    Fort Worth CDL School

This FREE school is sponsored/owned by Raider Express, a trucking company. After completion of the…read moreprogram you are expected to work for Raider Express for a minimum of 90 days however there is technically no contract binding you to this until AFTER you've already obtained your CDL License. I'll get to that later. One thing to make 'VERY' clear about this 'school' is that it is not an accredited school by the State of Texas and the Department of Transportation. This is a facility ran by previous truck drivers with several years of experience that show you the ropes on how to drive and work safely in the trucking industry. You will be taught how to do paper time logs in case your ELD ever goes down, how to read road map atlases and create your own driving routes in the case that your GPS ever fails or dies, and you'll learn the basics on how a truck driver's 14-hour clock works. Now let's go over how the program works. Fort Worth CDL School advertises their program as a 4-week driving school.. I can tell you now THAT'S A LIE. You will be here anywhere between 4-7 weeks and the whole situation is just a case by case thing which kinda sucks. For example; if students that were in the school before you fail any CDL tests on their 4th week that will delay everyone else from moving forward and that's what kept happening to me and two other buddies of mine that I met at the school. We didn't finish our schooling until the end of our 6th week. In addition to what you will be learning in the coming weeks there is one important thing that YOU are responsible and expected to learn on your own and that is how to perform a Pre-Trip Inspection of the tractor and trailer. You will need to learn and memorize the name of each mechanical part on the truck trailer, what it is made of and if some parts are gear or belt driven. This is the ONE thing you must learn on your own throughout the 4 weeks at school. The best tip I can give you is to partner up with a group of people at school who are motivated to learn this crap because there are several people that do not take it seriously and end up failing the program. Week 1: Within your first three days of the so called 4 week program you will be crammed with a ton of DPS information to prepare you to obtain your Commercial License Permit (CLP). If you are unable to pass and obtain the CLP by the end of your first week you will not move into Week 2 and you are removed from the program. Week 2: This week will focus on how to perform the truck maneuvers to pass your Commercial Driver's License exam. There are three maneuvers you will need to master: Straight Line Back, Offset Backing, and Parallel Parking a Semi truck with a trailer. Week 2 might be the most intimidating because this is where most people get frustrated and give up or you are eliminated from the program because you're dragging the rest of the class from being able to move into new material. At the end of Week 2 everyone will receive an evaluation where you are required to perform all three maneuvers without messing up. If you mess up then you are removed from the program and sent home. Week 3: This week is finally driving week! Your first two days of week 3 you will spend them driving the truck around an abandoned lot near the Historic Stockyards. You will learn how to make right and left turns safely with a trailer attached to the tractor. Day 3 and 4 you will spend them actually driving around town and on the highways. And on day 5 you will be evaluated to see how safely you can drive a truck without any instruction. Hitting a curb or running a red light is an automatic failure and you will be removed from the program and sent home. Week 4: This week is your touch up week. You will spend majority of this week recapping your maneuvers and mastering your driving until your exam date with DPS. Once you've successfully passed your exam with DPS and obtain your Commercial Drivers License the school portion is over and now be prepared to start the next part of your journey.. Cross Country Driving with a Raider Express Trainer. The area where Fort Worth CDL School and Raider Express didn't meet my expectations was the cross country driving. Raider Express and their HR Coordinator say that they try to pair you with someone who they think you'll get along with throughout those 28 days on the road but my trainer was awful. The days were long, I went almost three days without a shower, it was impossible to sleep while the trainer drove with his loud music on or his conversations over speaker with his problematic family. He also had zero patience and constantly had an attitude if I didn't do things his way. I called it quits after 2 weeks on the road. If you're reading this and are interested in coming to this school feel free to DM me if you have questions, I've unfortunately ran out of space to continue my review.

She was always one step ahead of me as I transitioned into being a mom for the first time. She made sure I was fed, comfortable, and ahead of dealing with the pain that I was in since I had to have some repairs done. I was told I needed to take baths, and she made sure the tub was cleaned and ready for me before I needed, as well as ensuring I had enough pads, and cold pads made, and running errands for my new little family and I. Keyana is very reliable and punctual. If she tells you something will be done, she makes sure that it is done no matter the cost. While serving as a doula, there was never a time Keyana was late. The way Keyana interacted with my newborn after his birth was very natural and you could tell she had a genuine concern for me and my son. My favorite part of how she interacted with him was her patience, caring, and gentle nature. This is my first child so I was very cautious about who watched my child, but I was at ease with Keyana. Keyana takes pride in her work and takes it very seriously. She always maintains her professionalism in all situations. She is very detailed and really gets to know her clients to ensure a peaceful, personalized experience. Even though she does not have children of her own, she understands the thoughts and concerns of mothers. She sends text updates to make sure your mind is at ease while your child's is in her care. Keyana is VERY knowledgeable about almost all aspects of birth and babies. And if in the seldom event she doesn't have an answer for you, she will research the topic and get back to you within the same day in most cases. Most importantly her love for Christ and serving spirit aided in her making sure that my wishes for my birthing experience came true without question. She made me feel supported and coached me to having the natural Water birth I had always imagined. I would definitely recommend beautifully created birth services to any expecting mom or couple!
