I also ordered pigs-in-a-blanket and brussel sprouts for additional sides, and while overkill (meaning I didn't need them to make me full), werr very good appetizers; I had to make sure not to finish them, or else I would have been too full for the meal. For drinks, I got a Mezcal Negroni that was strong but delicious. The clean, lovely restaurant was sparse when I came in at noon, but was picking up by the time I left around 1:15p. The restaurant wasn't even open, with the owner John busy repainting the dining room. I think he sensed our desperation and invited us on in. His wife came down and prepared the most delicious home cooked meal, including the best fish & chips I've ever tasted. This place is special and the owners are just the sweetest ever. My brother ate his 3 scallops before the plate was practically put down, I then scoffed his bulgur wheat. Mum loved her salmon. For main I had seabass with potato gnocchi was light and well seasoned. Open for breakfast, lunch, and diner on most days. Though closed on Mondays. Anyway, the food is excellent. Freshly prepared and locally sourced. We had the chateaubriand with a few drinks and a couple starters. Everything was absolutely sterling, and the steak was almost a religious experience. Absolutely tender, perfectly grilled, and impeccably seasoned. The menu was large and diverse, the staff knowledgeable and friendly, and the atmosphere was surprisingly classy and romantic. I loved the decor, I loved the live pianist, and I loved the ambiance with the lighting and the candles. My husband said it was his favorite restaurant in town, and I'll have to agree. Can't wait to go back.
