The place itself leaves a lot to be desired unless it's been improved since the last time i found myself in there. The walls are not describable they are so bad and if you ever need the toilet in here, i suggest you go somewhere else as they are never useable. If you're lucky enough to find one clean enough to use you definately wouldn't be lucky enough to find toilet roll. It can be alright early in the night, but later on stay away unless you feel like sticking to the floor and finding yourself in a fight. Definately wins the title of cheap and tacky.

Interesting set up. Has a patio out back. First impressions in the bar part were a little so so but the lounge part put that to rest and it was full and people were ordering meals. The chicken tikka masala was a wonderful - nice rich silky smooth gravy with succulent pieces of chicken. The pilaf was just right with it. Northern Bar has great daily specials - go for them. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is friendly and quick.

You have to wait half an hour to get served at the bar and when you do it costs you an arm and a leg! I have been back once after that and it hasn't changed, if its possible its worse! They built a cosy little bar counter and shelves in the basement and they have a great open mic acoustic night on Wednesdays. It gets 4 stars for being cosy and eclectic. Definitely not fancy but the music was spot on. There is seating too.
