Miguel and John were the technicians who came out to replace my hot water heater and ejector pump. They were friendly and accommodating. My girlfriend asked for them to wear shoe coverings, which she had provided and they obliged. Their work was satisfactory. Another thing I liked about this company is I didnt get a bunch of requests asking that I review their service. Overall, you can feel confident when using Preferred. read more

We were referred by multiple local residents. They came the same day we called on a Thursday. They said they had to order the part, gave an arbitrary estimate of $900, and said they would return the following Wednesday to complete the repair. We called them Wednesday morning and left a detailed voicemail. They didn't answer or return the call. We left a second message and they returned the call. They had not ordered the part. We asked for a written estimate for their verbally quoted estimate. He said they don't provide written estimates. He said he "found an old part made of copper, we haven't used copper in years, and could do the repair today price of $1200." That's $300 more than the original estimate for an admitted inferior repair that cost them nothing after neglecting to order the replacement at all. He still continued to refuse to provide any written estimate. Unprofessional, dishonest and extraordinarily poor customer service. read more

Professional, courteous, explains what needs to be done, lets you know verbally what the costs will be at reasonable fee. They are not a 24/7 business but will come over soon during normal business hours. Preferred Plumbing has been here a few times. My house is old and has poorly put together plumbing. I highly recommended them. My neighbor is also satisfied with their services. read more

We just completed a 3 part plumbing job with Mike and Brian. We were absolutely satisfied with the outcome and will hire them again if we need a plumber. Rating: AAA+++ read more

Our slop sink in our basement was not draining. Michael came to our house and cleared up the issue in a matter of minutes. We then told him we had low water pressure in our kitchen sink and bathroom shower. Within a few minutes, Michael fixed our problem. Michael is very friendly and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Preferred Plumbing. read more

Our shower had a steady leak. I called Michael and left a message. He returned my call quickly, asked me detailed questions to suss out the problem, and gave me a fair price for the repair. Miguel called me the next morning and came over immediately to fix the leak. He was very professional. I definitely recommend this business, and plan to use them again for future fixes. read more

We've used Preferred Plumbing before and always have found them quick to respond with great service. However, after today's encounter with them, I wanted to take time to leave a review. I failed to get the plumber's name, but initials on the invoice are MJ. Late last night I was cleaning out cabinets and tossing various items into my garbage disposal. Without too much thought, I poured in a half bag of dry black beans. After awhile, the sink stopped draining and I knew I'd made a huge error in judgement. I scooped out a lot of the now chopped black beans in hopes that would do the trick. Also suctioned out all of the extra water in the sink, and tried a plunger ... all fails! Fessed up to my husband who called Preferred Plumbing. I was NOT looking forward to facing the plumber with my confession. One other time, I'd stopped up the disposal with flower stems (thinking they were like vegetables) and had gotten a friendly lecture from the plumber (not from PP). However M. J. could not have been nicer or more professional. Never once did he reprimand my error in judgement. He was pleasant while he took apart the drain (which was totally clogged with now hardened black bean pieces). When I apologized again he jokingly said that he'd heard that garbage disposals are a plumber's best friend and that I was not alone in all of this. He was friendly, efficient, cleaned up everything and when I offered him a tip for his positive attitude, he tried to refuse it. It was truly a pleasure working with him. He made a very positive impression on me (and I'll try not to dispose of other items just to see him in the future!). read more

Wonderful! They have helped a few time now and can say enough good things about them. Fair and honest.

Very quick response for sump pump issues. Michael was informative and very helpful. Great local business!

Have used Mike and crew (Brian, Miguel etc...) a number of times since we moved here. They are professional, show up as stated and frequently come in a little under estimate. We are very happy with them and will continue to use in the future. read more

Called about our clogged up kitchen sink. Miguel came out and did an outstanding service job! He got the job done, cleaned up when he was done and was so friendly!Definately recommend Prefferred Plumbing! read more

Excellent job and service when it was needed the most. Will call them again, they were very thorough and explained the process and gave me advice for future issues. I highly recommend them. read more

My first encounter with the Preferred Plumbing team was when they installed a new hot water heater in my home 5 years ago. Over the years I've had a couple of other plumbing issues that required work. I have met Mike, Russ and today Miguel, who did an outstanding job. ALL of these gentlemen repaired the plumbing issue(s) in my home quickly and proficiently; they are honest, professional and very polite; each time leaving the work area cleaned up and neat. I felt the cost for their work seemed fair, I never felt like I was being gouged or taken advantage of. I hope not to have anymore plumbing issues, you never know, but if I do I have Preferred Plumbing Services on speed dial. Thank you gentlemen!! read more

The preferred plumbing van was dangerously tailgating me today and when I called to complain about it I got the driver who blamed me for driving by looking in my rearview mirror. He's a menace to the road. read more

I had to leave a review for this company who just finished a service on property. Mike and his team are great and honest ! They did a great job for me and drained my sew at a very fair price . If you have any pumbling problem , please don't hesitate to call these guys ! read more

I had a few items that needed attention. Calling a plumber is never something one wants to do, but if you call this service, you can rest easy. They do quality work and very reasonable rates. He came on time, he did the work in a timely manner, and he was receptive to any questions. We even had an extra issue that needed attention, and he did that too and charged a discounted rate because he was already in the house. read more

Michael and his crew are the best. If you are having problems with your village in trying to get things up to code and pass inspections, call Preferred Plumbing. They were the third plumbers we've used in trying to getting surprise violations fixed from an REO purchase (including an illegal bathroom in the basement) and they will be the last we will ever use. They came in at a lower price than we had initially anticipated, and more importantly, it is all done right, so that we are able to pass inspection the first time around. To top things off, when he gave me our final invoice, he knocked off a couple of charges - doesn't get much better than that! Each day they were here they arrived when they said they would, they were professional and courteous and let us know what was going on (Miguel would let us know when the water was being shut off, for example) and they cleaned the job site at the end of the day. I found Michael to be a competitive business man with a pretty straight forward attitude - from the beginning he gave me the impression that he wanted to help us get our plumbing issues fixed, but he also wanted to give us a good deal - and build a relationship for the future. You know how some people come in and do a job and you think 'oh, they obviously aren't banking on being a repeat customer business' - well, I would say the opposite is true here. That being said, now that I understand plumbing and licensing a bit more, I understand how much more qualified a guy like Michael is...the testing he had to go through for his license with the state sounds like it was more intense than the bar exam. I only wish I had understood all of that when I began my search for a plumber. And I won't hesitate to call Michael and the guys at Preferred Plumbing for our next job and you shouldn't either! Update: We've since moved to Brookfield so now I'll have to call Michael when we get ready for plumbing changes in the new place, and I have no doubt we will be able to pass our inspections without issue once again. read more

Called Preferred plumbing on a Sunday, first thing Monday morning they returned my call. They arranged a time for later that day, arrived when they said they would. Brian was courteous and knowledgeable, and was a very tidy worker. I will definitely be using them again and will recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing services. They also have very fair prices, I was very happy with their service. read more

This plumbing company is hands down the best in Westchester, IL. Let me tell you why... We had our kitchen sink back up on Thanksgiving day. Yeah it sucked....to have your kitchen sink not work on Thanksgiving. So I placed a call to Preferred Plumbing on the evening of Thanksgiving. And the owner, Michael called me back within 30 minutes. He called me back on a holiday, after-hours, to confirm that they'd be at our house the next morning! How awesome is that!!! I didn't expect them to call me back on a holiday. Plus we were leaving town the day after Thanksgiving, so we needed the repair to be done first thing in the morning, before we left town. Michael said we'd be their first job in the morning. Not only did they show up exactly at the time they said they would the next day. The repair took about 30 minutes and my sink was functioning better than it did before. Plus, the plumber was a nice dude, and he did the job very cleanly. Meaning, he took his shoes off, he took out everything under the sink, placed down a drop cloth, did the repair, and replaced the stuff back. It was awesome. This is how a plumbing company does it!! They make life easy, the price was affordable, and the owner followed through. We are 100% for sure using this company again! Michael and his Preferred Plumbing employees are super professional. It's nice to have a company deliver on their commitment. We are definitely using this company again and I'm trying to get the word out that this company is awesome!! read more

Be very careful using this company. The manager believes that it is your responsibility as a customer to ask about pricing up front, not theirs to tell you as a business. If you decide to use them, ask any questions about things that could possibly cause the cost to go up first, such as- what is the anticipated price? Will I be charged overtime? and anything else you can think of. I called this company at 3:39 and asked Mike to send out someone to fix my backed up toilet and tub. Although he told me that it was late and he'd sent his guys home early, he said he would see what he could do. He called back a bit later and said he was sending out two guys. HE DID NOT AT ANY TIME DURING THAT CALL MENTION THAT THE COMPANY CLOSED AT FOUR AND I WOULD BE CHARGED OVERTIME. The plumbers arrived and were very professional. They rodded out my line in about an hour. They then tried to get me to have them do a further service for an extra $100. I asked how much we were at and was shocked that they were charging $415 dollars! I asked why and was told it was because I was being charged overtime. When I told them that Mike hadn't mentioned overtime, they indicated that I should call him. I did call and expressed my dismay at being charged overtime without being informed of it up front. HE REPLIED THAT I DIDN'T ASK. I expressed my belief that it was poor business to not tell customers and then blame their upset on them because they didn't ask. When I objected to this, the call cut off. I assume that he hung up on me and was further upset. Mike did call back a bit later and claimed his phone had died and he'd just gotten it plugged in. Thankfully, he had decided he did not want an upset customer and knocked off $100, ALTHOUGH THE PLUMBERS DID NOT FINISH RODDING OUT TO THE SEWER, WHICH THEY SAID THEY ALWAYS DO IN CASES LIKE MINE. I tried again to tell Mike that the company should always tell customers about charging overtime, especially if his business closes unexpectedly early. Eventually he started insulting me stating that it was his mistake that he'd agreed to do business with me because "I was a great actress and the only one that got anything out of this," implying that I had tried to defraud HIM In some way. All I ever wanted was my plumbing fixed at an honest, up front price. Beware, Lori read more

Honest and old-fashioned professional! After the runaround from others, Mike took my call and couldn't have been more helpful and honest. He was able to explain why he didn't service my type of gas water heater (rather than coming out and trying to sell me a new one as another apparently pretty clueless fellow did). He said he could put in a new one, but said I might be able to get mine fixed satisfactorily for a lot less. He asked several questions and then recommended a way to find someone to service my problem (he told me the company that had purchased the firm that made my water heater). read more

Preferred Plumbing is now my company of choice. I had a broken pipe that flooded my basement while I was away from home. The water for the house had to be turned off to prevent continued flooding. Preferred Plumbing worked me into their schedule quickly the next morning. The repair was not easy as there was a wall preventing full access to the pipe, which required cutting a hole in the wall. But, the repair was quick. AWESOME. They completely cleaned up the mess. Even though my work was clearly a rush job, the rate for everything was quite reasonable. I didn't give them 5 stars only because they don't take credit cards or electronic payment methods. That said, I could not be more pleased with their service, quality and value of their work. read more
