At this point, I'm willing to forgive the $290, but I'm posting this so that everyone else will know to be careful.

They were extremely patient and understanding with us throughout the building and changes process - more so than most builders would have been. They were persistent in helping us obtain the matching brick for the addition (no small feat as it turned out). They were superb in managing the construction timeline and the subcontractors they used were top-notch pros. Their recommendations and advice on what could or should be done was solid. They had to perform a couple of "hacks" to make a custom door for an unplanned storage area - their experience and expertise came through as the finished access looks like it was supposed to be there. The fit, finish and appearance of the addition is nothing short of fantastic. We also had Dream Builders re-roof and re-side the entire house. Not only does the whole house look new but the way the addition is attached to the house (exterior) and the way it transitions from the hallway to the new room (interior) is smooth with unbroken lines. If you never saw the house before you wouldn't know this was added on to the home later. A lot of builders are busy these days. I found Walnut Builders, LLC, at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. The company had an A+…read morerating. I already had had some bad experiences with contractors in Bloomington. When I contacted Walnut Builders through the BBB, the company was super quick to respond to my inquiry. That alone made the company a refreshing contractor to work with. Then, they scheduled my work in my home within two weeks, maybe faster. First, they fixed the mistakes of two previous contractors. Then, they not only handled my list of things to do, they even found some problems in my electric system that could have been very dangerous - and they fixed it. They took care of everything that I needed quickly and efficiently. All their work is of high quality. Daniel and his team were courteous and friendly and respectful of my home. They are super clean about all their work and clean up all their work messes (I think they even cleaned up some of my messes). FP agreed to construct a deck and remove a window to install a door, and run a 2 pole switch. Justin was great on the carpentry, but FP backed out of the electrical saying, "we are not qualified to do wiring". So if you have a house wiring job, don't go with FP.

Also I later found out that they had quoted us an outrageous price for the work and they took much longer to complete the work than the job should have taken (leveling a floor is not a multi day process). I would give zero stars if I could and I regret not just going to our flooring supplier (Wylies, who I later had to pay to come in and fix this shoddy work, which they managed to complete in a matter of hours rather than days). Never use these guys, save yourself the wasted time, money, and weeks of cleanup.
