After charging us around $300 for a roadworthy inspection, we were then told the van would never pass in Victoria because the rear seats had been removed and it had a partial campervan conversion. What makes this so frustrating is that this was blatantly obvious the second the side door was opened. Any honest mechanic with basic decency would have said upfront, "This won't pass in Victoria due to the modifications," before taking our money and continuing with the inspection. Instead, they happily went ahead with the check knowing full well it would fail on that basis alone. When questioned, the receptionist claimed they "didn't know until they looked at it," which is ridiculous considering the modifications are immediately visible. To make it worse, some of the other issues they picked up on had already passed inspection in NSW anyway, so naturally we would have just taken the van back there to sell if they had been upfront from the beginning. The whole thing felt incredibly greedy and dishonest. It came across as a cash grab rather than genuine customer service. Would not recommend.

As an independent service center, you get to speak with the boss. They don't have a super fancy waiting room, but this is one of the things I specifically love about this place, no airs and graces, just fixing cars!

Leo's Way specialises in European cars (Peugeot in particular, I think), but he is equally great at taking care of my Toyota and my sister's Subaru. I took my 04 Falcon wagon in for a couple of minor electrical jobs & a replacement mirror. The minor electrics he & staff did on the spot, almost for cost. When he repllaced the electric wing mirror I dropped my car off in the morning with no notice (which meant he had to source the part). It was ready by the afternoon and within $10 of cheapest comparison quote. My little brother put his 2000 Corolla in for a major service and what turned out to be a replacement alternator - $700 for the lot incl 2 new tires, alternator and new battery. Ready within 2 days. There's a few young mechanics on staff but Mark seems to be the hands on manager. In both my brother and my case he called to advise of cost and seek permission for the work.I drive past this garage all the time and often lights on and hoists up late at night. Always lots of cars, early and late model, on site. Seems they're working hard to build a good name and repeat business Did he get the bible chapter reference inked on his forearm as a marketing move?.. too cynical? This and his honest face and manner worked on me anyway. He could probably sell me encyclopaedias..
