I really wanted to keep supporting this place. What turned me off was the experience with the guy at the counter during my last visit. He made a sly little remark assuming I wasn't Haitian. I let him continue thinking that because I wanted to see where the interaction was going. My first two visits were with a female employee, and everything was pleasant, so this immediately rubbed me the wrong way. After I paid and was waiting for my food, I happened to look back at the menu before leaving and realized he charged me $5 more than what my order should've cost. I was in a rush and didn't have time to stop and argue about it, but I definitely noticed. And before anybody says it was a mistake , I know Haitian culture VERY well. I also know that overcharging people who are assumed to be tourists or people who don't speak Creole is unfortunately not some rare thing. So this felt intentional to me. That's what makes this so disappointing because the food is honestly so good. But no food is good enough for dishonesty. I truly wish the restaurant success because people's livelihoods depend on these businesses doing well, but that guy at the counter is going to drive customers away.

I called today asking for an update on the order and was told that there was a shipping label created but it could be a little while longer before it was shipped. I asked to cancel the order and she could not have cared less and told me she didn't know when the refund would come through but "hopefully soon". I was really excited about supporting a small business instead of the big citrus grower everyone knows, it's so disappointing.
