In today's world of the McDojo this is the furthest from it I have found in a long time including one of the most miserable and unscrupulous (and now infamous) schools that I have ever personally experienced and arguably in the whole country right here in Edmonton. I was somewhat unconvinced of my at the time, 6 year old's actual desire to be a part of a martial arts program given the often distracted and flighty nature of that age but with the free trial first class we gave it a shot. They seem to found the right amount of fun, games and achievement to mix with instruction on the physical skills and mental aspects of martial arts to keep him engaged and wanting to return. The instructors at the St Albert location really have a good approach with the kids.

Things such as stretching and and following directions are a bit too advanced for a age 24 month old. At the end of class when they play with balloons etc she does enjoy it but I wish I would've waited another six months or year. They also change the class from 915 to 9 and we did not get the message so we miss part of the first class. But those two things aren't a big deal and so far we are having a fun time. The staff seem friendly enough and the class is pretty well structured. I like how they let both parents come in or there is a waiting room with a window where grandparents or the other parent can just sit and relax and watch your children. ( this class there must always be one parent present in the class) We are halfway done our eight week class and I would say so far so good. It's a nice way to get your children active.

Having been involved with this tae kwon-do school for over half my life, I can say that it's one of the best out there. Unfortunately, I've had to use what I've learned in real life, and I can tell you that it works. Things have changed a great deal since I started when I was... 12? But that's what happens when businesses expand. The instruction I received personally has always been the best. In my opinion, you get what you pay for. The best teachers, the best facilities, and the best programs. I've met people here that I'm going to know for the rest of my life. The people who have been unhappy obviously don't understand the word "contract", or are the type prone to signing things without reading them, and I find that really unfortunate.

The facility seems like it does the job fine. i haven't noticed anything vital to the facility that is missing. It is not the biggest or fanciest looking facility, but it shouldn't affect the class. One major thing i would like to see, is increasing the length of the class. I can sometimes leave the class feeling like i could be doing more drilling. My favourite class was my one on one work, because i was able to spend a lot of time perfecting something i had just learned. Even during this class, I wanted to stay longer. Conditioning sucked...
