I am just about to cry. My entire experience here was a disaster. First, I had a bad feeling when I first walked in because I saw mostly older men and extremely older women in there to have their hair done and I didn't really like the cuts I saw on ppl leaving. But, I am no spring chicken at 55 and I really needed to get my hair trimmed so I thought, "how bad can it be?" I asked if she could just trim my hair, keeping it at the short bob it already was. She assured me she could do it. No problem, though she did suggest that we stack it in the back for volume. I didn't ask (nor do I recall any signs) if they took credit cards, just assumed that they did. When she finished my cut, I initially thought it looked okay, though the left side was slightly longer in the front than the right (she said something about how she had to do it that way and I can't remember why). She showed me the back and my heart dropped. It looked like frumpy, old lady layers, not the sleek stack I had imagined. I smiled anyway and just wanted to get out of there. We got to the counter and she said it would be $22 and I pulled out my cc and she said, "Oh, we only take cash or check." What?! I had no idea. I had a twenty in my wallet and about seventy cents in change. She waved me out and said bring it back. I had to pick up my child from school at this point, and had an appt. I went to my house just down the road to see if I had any cash there, didn't, so I left to do that and called to tell her I would def be back before closing, which I did after doing what I had to do and getting the cash. I was irritated that she didn't tell me upfront, nor did I see any signs, that they don't take cc. And my cut? Omigosh. I HATE IT. Seriously. It is a few days out now and I can't do anything with it. I told her I wanted it just easy, like it already was, with the bob. I did agree to the stacking but I totally did not ask for, nor did I want this crazy layering that looks like my 11 year old niece got a hold of scissors and went at it on the back. It is a shapeless, boring mess that looks like my grandma's hair, and I will never ever go back. It was an embarrassing, frustrating experience and I'm sure she wasn't happy about the money payment snafu either, but good grief, I had no idea they don't take cc. I guess it's just true, you get what you pay for. I don't know whether to go somewhere else and see if someone can fix this disaster, or just to let it grow out. Either way, it's going to be more time, more money, and a huge headache. (I didn't tip her. I would have and was going to with my card, but by the time I got back with the cash, I'd had more time to look at my hair and I was just so frustrated with how it turned out, I didn't tip. And I ALWAYS tip.) read more
