Consumer Review of Precision Garage Door Service We recently hired Precision after seeing their high-profile TV commercials. Both of our garage doors needed work after one stopped opening correctly and the other had sensor issues, and they quickly recommended a complete replacement. Unfortunately, I told my wife to move forward even though the timing wasn't ideal and I was unable to compare prices. Positives: * The employees were courteous and professional in demeanor. * The doors work fine now. Concerns Consumers Should Know: 1. Job Site Cleanliness: As the old wiring was removed, sharp metal staples and stripped wires were left scattered across the garage. These are what we call "tire killers," and I had to clean more than 25 of them up myself. 2. Billing Transparency: While it took less than two minutes to pay, it took more than 27 hours to receive an itemized bill (they claimed it was sent to the wrong email). Once I received it, I discovered the issue: nearly every part was marked up 37-54%. For example, they charged $1,314 per garage door opener--an item I later found online for less than one-fifth of that cost. 3. Warranty Misrepresentation: The paperwork said "Lifetime Warranty" at the top, but the fine print revealed it was actually a limited warranty. Additionally, the installer told my wife the warranty could be transferred to a new homeowner for $300 per door. The contract clearly states this is not true. 4. Overall Cost: What should have been around a $4,000 project ballooned to $8,000. The convenience of going with a big-name company turned out to be very costly. Bottom Line: Precision did complete the job and the doors work fine, but the extreme markups, misleading warranty language, and lack of cleanup left me feeling taken advantage of. Consumers should carefully review the contract, pricing, and warranty before agreeing to anything. I did leave a response on Google that was very positive quick response, friendly service and satisfied with the service but talking with friends and relatives. I paid $1250 for two powder coated springs and three bearings installation took less than 30 minutes at the most, I really question the price of the repair project After talking with friends they can't believe I paid $1250 for the service I received can I get a response please? I'm elderly and assume that I was treated fairly.????? I give it a three star only because of the issues I stated above. Otherwise, it was a fair price.
