This department is also the travel clinic for the area. If you need vaccinations to go abroad…read more(Yellow fever vaccine) book way in advance for an appointment. This is also the Center for Comprehensive Care of Immune Deficiency. Park in the visitor lot between Olney and Fairfax.

I would give them ZERO stars if I could. I have never been there - not for lack of trying, though…read more I have CVIDS (Chronic Immune Deficiency Syndrome) and NEED to replace my former doc who retired.. My immunologist gave my information to his staff to make an appointment at EVMS. They said they don't take phone referrals. She would have to fax my record over with a request for appointment. She followed up for a week but got no reply. My husband and I began calling EVMS and asking for the status and\or an appointment. Each time we were transferred to the Infectious Disease Department from the switchboard and had to leave voicemail. They never even called back! And they either did not call back my immunologist, or said they can't help me. Not sure which until I go in for my March 21 appt and talk to the doctor. I lost my infectious disease physician in 2014 when he retired. At the time of his retirement I had I not seen him in 6-months because my treatments were working and I was fairly well. My husband and I were on the road alot(doc called us his "nomads" because we traveled extensively in the US) and when I called to schedule a follow-up appt my doctor was gone. I spent the next year trying to find a replacement between trips. Then last year I got sick, infection after Infection, in the ER for pneumonia, nasty sinus infection, UTI, etc. I've had two separate oral surgeries to remove multiple teeth due to abcess. My rheumatologist gave me the name of an immunologist and I had to wait nearly 2 months for an appointment.. while waiting I got sicker. The sinus infection migrated to tooth roots, eye infection resulting in ulceration around my cornea, and an abscess on my lower jaw. My esophagus became inflamed due to 3 months of Augmentin, and I had to have an emergency endoscopy to remove food that I tried to eat before it became stuck halfway to my stomach. But EVMS - called the immune deficiency center in the previous review won't set an appointment for me.... So my rheumatologist is seeking another Infectious Disease specialist for me. A doctor or clinic that won't see you is as bad as one that doesn't exist.

I want to share my feedback because I think this practice has gotten a bad rap. I don't totally…read moreknow the history but I think it was DePaul until not so long ago when Bon Secures bought them, but they are still called DePaul Medical Associates (on the former DePaul hospital campus). Anyhow, after searching high and low for a new PCP in this area, and waiting months - after a terrible experience with Sentara - I booked with the NP Geeta. She was awesome!! She asked all the right questions and made suggestions that I would have expected from my previous PCP who had for 15+ years. She made me feel very comfortable. The building itself was new, clean and the staff was extremely courteous. I also did not wait long, actually they called me in about 10 minutes before my appt time since I was already there.

to start, every visit the front desk and the nurses are always nice!…read more the provider was not. Dr.Leon Smith-Harrison was the worst care provider I've ever seen. I'm a younger girl I get it, but i have issues that I go to, to get addressed and all he says is "your healthy". he doesn't provide any care or concern. he prescribes random shit he knows won't help, and has the most demeaning tone. on top of this, he says I need to "let the professionals" handle it - when I tell him about my stomach pain. what doctor says that to a patient? either way this doctor is unprofessional. do not go to him if you have actual medical concerns . On another note - I called to switch providers (I didn't know you couldnt do that apparently) and a month later, the day before my new appointment they tell me they have to cancel it and now I have to find a new clinic if I want to switch people because they don't allow transfer of providers. this should of been addressed when I first booked the new appt. but they obviously don't care about people's time or health . Very unprofessional and ridiculous.

Park Place Medical Center offers medical and dental services to people who have insurance and they…read morehave self pay options as well if you don't. If you don't have insurance they have a sliding scale that's cheaper than most dental/medical offices. You are expected to pay that day in full. It's located off Granby Street by DuPaul Hospital. The facility is newer and there's lots of parking out front and its easy to get in and out of the building. They're located on the 3rd floor. You check in on the ipad then they call you up. All the Dentist there are very nice and they're also patient with you. I will say the demand is high for the services so you could wait a while for an appointment. If you have no other options, I guess you'll take what you can get. I got my tooth pulled and Dr Langston was very compassionate and she did a good job with the extraction. I'm not one to prefer a woman to pull my teeth, the men seemed to have more strength and I had better experience with them in the past. But nope she shattered that idea. She numbed me up, went in and had the tooth out in less than 3 minutes. I'm a big baby when it comes to this kinda stuff, and she talked me through everything. I also see Dr. Thornton and she's nice as well. Very caring, and always does a good job. The staff is friendly and welcoming!! I had a dry socket and they only wanted to offer an antibiotic, which was disappointing. My pain level required more than a Tylenol or Motrin, unfortunately that's all you're getting. This was one of the only issues I've had here. I was in a great deal of pain. Dry socket is like having a baby through your gums. It's very intense!! So I'm just saying this to say be prepared so you're not caught off guard. It's not personal they just aren't having it here. I feel it should definitely be a case by case situation. It's nothing worse than dealing with tooth pain and losing sleep. Even though I don't agree with this, I still like them. The dental assistants are nice also. Otherwise the facility is nice, easy to get to, not too crowded, updated, and the staff is nice!! The restroom is also clean. Check them out!!!
