The course is a bit hilly towards the end of the nine. If you have the opportunity to play there, you will not be disappointed.

The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

First we all took a Zumba class! The instructor was an adorable lady with tons of energy so we had a blast! Then we all split up to do our own things. I personally took a quick shower then sat in the steam room but it didn't seem to be working so I went in the sauna, which I loved. Some other friends used the gym and others went in the pool. After the sauna I sat in the waiting area for my massage and drank a cup of herbal tea with my friends. My massage was excellent! So relaxing and she spent extra time on my areas where I asked her to focus- lower back and hips. After our massages, one of my friends and I went in the outdoor hot tub. What a great experience to be in that hot bubbly water while it was snowing! It's located in a covered area so it didn't snow on us. Then we came back inside and sat in the sauna one more time then I showered and got dressed. What a fun, relaxing time! I took a star off as the steam room wasn't working although I noticed someone contacted staff to inform them and it was fixed. Also, they only had small and extra large sandals available so I wore the small ones which were not very comfortable. My friends had trouble with their lockers and had to get staff more than once to assist them. Other than those minor issues, we had a fantastic experience!

Unfortunately, the hotel itself is extremely rundown and does not live up to what you would expect from a resort of this caliber. My room was stuffy because the windows wouldn't open, and the air conditioning worked inconsistently. But the biggest issue was the mattress, which literally sank in the middle, making it impossible to get a good night's sleep. I immediately reported it to management. I was told they would bring up another mattress, but it would take 24 hours to unbox and expand. I agreed, but no one ever came back. I then asked to move rooms and was told there were no rooms available. The most disappointing part was the lack of urgency or follow-through from management. I understand this is a historic property, but that shouldn't mean guests have to accept an uncomfortable room, inconsistent air conditioning, and poor service. The setting is spectacular, but the hotel desperately needs maintenance and better management. For me, the beautiful grounds simply aren't enough to overcome the condition of the hotel and the way my complaint was handled.

Then we checked in, two bored young ladies had nothing to offer. Come to find out they should have told us about paying for range balls there. Then onto the course, just a 10 minute interval between groups on a very difficult course meant three or four groups on every hole. The friendly rangers were useless except for telling the all-female groups to keep up. For $135 a round, we deserved better but it was so slow we quit after the 12th hole. Never going back. Had a much better experience at Stratton the next day.

Entering the center you are welcomed by friendly and helpful staff asking you what your golfing pleasure is. What struck me immediately is that it caterers to all levels of golfer for the range to the mini. they are all over the covid clean measures without it feel oppressive at all. ForeU felt like a judgement-free zone, and being a terrible to marginal golfer myself, that made all the difference. I had the opportunity to speak with another gentlemen swinging at his bucket and he raved about the instruction available at ForeU for him and his family. Judging from his swing, I would say he is getting his money's worth. I look forward signing up for a lesson the next time I am in town.
