    I live at Northbrook apartments for 3 years now. Finances keep me from moving. Don't move here!…read moreI've never, ever lived in a worse location. If you like having a parking spot, don't look ve at Northbrook. Maintenance Men often take the only available parking spots and if you ask nicely to please let you park there, they get indignant and rude. They threaten to have you thrown out. I called the office to find a solution to this problem and was told "you're only a tent" by a Woman with a Russian accent. I don't understand why they need the parking spots, they never actually work. I've had repairs needed for 2 years now. They claim they are coming out and never show up. The electric is a fire hazard and shorts out, leaving tenants with no electricity. The smell of weed is a permanent fixture but cigarettes are not allowed. Do you like kids screaming outside your window with no supervision? Then Northbrook is your place. There's plenty of unsupervised kids to jump on your vehicle, leave trash everywhere and literally scream and tap your window just because they know they are not supposed to. The parents are just as bad. Don't ask the kids not to jump on your vehicle because the parents will tell you " They Kidz can do wat dey want" You're better off living in public housing, at least you will have repairs done in a timely fashion in the projects. Please, don't come to Northbrook.

It's funny how they advertise "24 hour emergency Maintenance" when in reality you can't even get regular hour daytime maintenance without harassing them and still someone only comes out if you're lucky. The apartment we were shown was nothing like the one they moved us into. Our apartment had the ol landlord special, painted over dirt, tape and nails. had cracks all over the ceilings with paint spread over them, walls literally crumbling. Our fridge leaked water the entire 3 years we lived there. They always said they were bringing us a new one and never did. Most of the issues we had my husband ended up fixing himself and paying for our own materials. The mice were bad but that was the least of our problems you see we had an infestation of bees. We told them about the bee hive forming on the fire escape outside our infant daughters room but nothing was done. Eventually they got in. There were bees swarming in her room. I went down to the office in a panic. They said they'd take care of it. Days went by. Finally a maintenance guy comes up takes a peak and says he's allergic and can't do anything. Another lady came out and taped the door shut and left us with a vacuum and told us to suck the bees up with it when we saw them. We l lived in fear for almost 2 months of the bees breaking through her room. Not to mention we were paying for a 2 bedroom where we had no access to the 2nd room. Channel 6 actually wanted to do a story when I told the office this They sent out bee keepers but Maintenance never took them to our unit. They just walked them around the property and left even tho they knew full well we had the issue. So we called the bee company ourself and told them to come back out. They did and they removed a 10ft hive and 100 thousand bees from our wall and floor. The wall and floor of course remained ripped apart. We asked repeatedly for it to be fixed and they put some tape over the holes. One day my daughter had a piece of concrete in her mouth from the big hole in her floor. I took it down to the office and threw it on the ladies desk. My husband ended up fixing the room himself, again paying for our own materials. The lot is always littered with trash. There's always fights and loud music. This is absolutely no place to have a family. The pool was always disgusting. One summer the city or state closed it down because of dangerous bacteria levels. Which you could see with your eyes it was filthy. Oh our ceiling leaked all the time when it rained and our bedroom window if we wanted open we had to keep a piece of wood in it to prop it up. I hope you like really potent weed if you're considering living here because the contact high you'll get from simply walking up the steps is standard with pretty much every neighbor we had and there were many. We seemed to be the only idiots who actually stayed for so long but that's just because we Wernt evicted like everyone else. We thankfully finally bought a home and moved out of the hell that is northbrook apartments. We went back, cleaned and even painted/patched holes that Wernt even from us. That was more than most that lived there would do and more than that place deserved but we were determined to get our security deposit back which we did. Renters beware you're in for a scare...

(who has now blocked me ) stated that the last month rent is for my last month of tenancy ( which means you do not pay your last month when your moving out , it was paid before you moved in ). so the rent should have been prorated and returned, not only have they kept my money , since i told them about their selves noone has returned any emails & calls .. this company is thieves and they hate the fact i knew the rules ... i guarantee im not the only one they stole from ,

    Useless. Absolutely useless…read more They provide no value. I've filed numerous complaints about continued violations of people on the property and nothing is being done. That's not true, there was something done - my rent was raised. That's correct. I'm paying more in rent despite zero improvements to the apartment - that desperately needs them and no enforcement of the rules I was sure would be abided by by everyone who lives in the building. If you want to live in a property that this company is involved in, don't. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere. Horrendous from top to bottom.

I chose to work with a property management company so I wouldn't need to worry about the day to day direct communications with tenants, especially for time sensitive issues and they have not disappointed. We were not made clearly aware that this was supposed to be a self-guided tour -- and it didn't matter anyway, because the lockbox codes they sent us DID NOT WORK. Every attempt to get help was met with automated responses. When a real person finally stepped in, there was zero urgency. No one offered to come open the door. No one acknowledged that we had traveled hours to be there. We were essentially left on read while standing outside a property we couldn't enter. The response we eventually received amounted to: "Sorry, we're working on it." That's it. Here's what concerns me most: if this is how they handle prospective tenants, imagine how they handle the properties they manage. If I were a homeowner and this company was representing my home, I would consider that a serious breach of fiduciary responsibility. They are not acting in the owner's best interest by making showings inaccessible and unmanageable. This felt like a scam at worst and gross negligence at best. Avoid.
