Driving Range is good, even though the balls are overpriced. The staff is pretty nice, and the putting practice area is kept well. The actual golf course though is unfortunately a mess. All par threes, where the only club you're using 90% of the time is a wedge. For 30 dollars I would recommend going to a different course if you are actually trying to play golf. If you want to work on your chipping game though, definitely go here. I felt a bit duped thinking this would be a real golf couse where I could drive, and use my other irons, but only one of the holes was realistic to use a driver. read more

With a driving range, 2 putting greens, one which allows chipping, practice sand traps and a very well maintained golf course, it has the feel of a private Country Club. There's also an excellent restaurant on the grounds that adds to the Country Club feel. For a small golf course the pro shop is well stocked, and the private lessons are the best in the area. I would highly recommend this course. It suits golfers of any skill. One of the hidden gems of the Hamptons. The course is in great shape and can be completed in a fair amount of time. The driving range is spacious and has many targets. The staff inside was extremely courteous with all my questions and assisting me in the shop. Prices are comparable to other driving ranges. And when you are done playing or practicing, you can get a great meal at the restaurant. read more

I have played Poxabogue several times over the last couple years. Poxabogue is MAYBE an OK place to have breakfast at and maybe hit a bucket of overpriced golf balls. They have decent pancakes and sandwiches at a reasonable price for the Hamptons area. The range is a little pricey for what it is...Medium bucket of balls is $17 and large bucket is $24. You could walk 18 Holes at Sag Harbor for those prices and actually work on your game. Poxabogue is a LESS than OK place to play a round of golf at. It is basically a 9 Hole Par 3 course with a few Par 4 holes. It's really only decent for working on your short game. The course itself is pretty well maintained, so I will give it up for the grounds crew however, the pro shop/check-in is ran by a rather RUDE bunch of non professionals; especially the woman who works the front counter. If you ask her a question, she is immediately mad and rude.. if you ask her more than one question, she will bite your head off. One time, I was 5 min early for my tee time when I was ready to walk to the tee box and I was told I was late? I understand some courses like it when your are 10-15 min early, but the course was totally empty... 7:30am on a Tuesday. I opened the door to the pro shop to possibly buy a hat and some balls and was immediately yelled at by an older gentleman. He told me to ask to enter the pro shop, because he had the dogs running loose in the shop and didn't want them to bite me or get out. Dogs... IN THE PRO SHOP!!!!! oh right, I should have known that. You can't book 18 Holes online. You have to book 2 different 9 Hole rounds, 2 hours apart from each other and then deal with the rude staff when you arrive. A few times they have overbooked and we have had to wait to close to an hour to make the turn to play a 2nd nine. The rental push cart and clubs are below par and outdated. Poxabogue would be a great option for a round of golf if every course in the area were on fire at the same time and there weren't any farmers fields that you could play in. Driving ranges charge you to rent clubs, why are you surprised? ‍ AT LEAST the Pro Shop doesn't hand you clubs with bent shafts and holes in the grips like 90% of the ranges out on Long Island. I've been coming to Poxabogue ever since I was 5/6 years old. I started with junior golf lessons and now go every now and then to hit a bucket of (reasonably) priced balls as well as stop in for a quick bite to eat. It's the Hamptons, not Nassau county, nothing's cheap out here. HOWEVER, poxabogue is fair priced, and well maintained. Although I usually prefer to play at courses that I haven't played for decades, I'd still recommend to any golfer. read more

As a (very) beginner golfer I am happy to have Poxabogue nearby as a public option. After a great lesson with Joe Munzer I was excited to hit the range! However, I didn't realize they had been charging me $10 each time to borrow two clubs for the the range and felt a bit duped. Will go to Southampton from now on because they a better selection of loaner clubs for free and a fun vibe. read more

Terrible and rude people in the pro shop. I am learning to play and the woman gave me a club with torn up grip. When I complained she said"duly noted" and criticized me for not bringing my own clubs. Totally ignorant. All she had to do was apologize and give me a different one. In general the sports shop people act like they have the worst job in the world. read more

I give this 9-hole course a 5-star rating. As a public course, it's conveniently located, long hours, great pros and efficiently run. The new management have greatly improved the course conditions and bring professionalism to the operations. They are very accommodating and make an effort to squeeze you in during the high season. The 9-hole ladies day is well run and the junior camps are well received. I am shocked at recent reviews, I don't see that at all!!! read more

The pancakes were very starchy and unimpressive. Couldn't eat them. The sausage was not breakfast sausage. Eggs were ok. There are flies everywhere but I'm sure that's not an easy problem to address. The pancakes however should be a lot better- as in edible. read more

The course is a fine short local 9 hole, mostly par three course that can be played in 90 minutes. However, the staff is extremely subpar. Both I and others I have spoken to have difficulties when dealing with them. They continually loose the proof of residency that I provided and want to charge more than the going rate. The owner says contradictory things and yells at people when you point it out and ask for a clarification. I guess she feels the louder the yelling, the more she is correct. I find the reverse is usually true. I hope the town replaces the management so that it can return to a friendly local place that people will enjoy going to. read more

Great place to play go hit some balls or play a little par three-nine hole course. Place used to have real good energy, everyone smiling. But since the management changed, a low energy, sour woman in sore need of anti-depressants, is casting a gloom over the place. The teaching pros no longer smile, the guy who runs the diner next door isn't smiling as much...even the teaching pro from Florida who is all sunshine, seems to have shrunk under the weight of her gloom. Time for he to get out of customer service. She's killing the energy of what should be a fun place. read more

wow. I have frequented this course and driving range for years: The greeting I received the other day was beyond obnoxious; ( It was Saturday afternoon for all who run this place). An "elderly" woman who was behind the cash register was as mean and rude as you can be. In addition, I was charged a " rental fee" for use of Jr. clubs for my nephew to hit a few golf balls on the range. hmmm? whatever. No wonder this place is always teetering on extinction: Memo to manager: Don't treat anyone who arrives there and is spending 19.00 for a bucket of balls poorly. And don't decide to gouge anyone on a whim. I would have left but my 7 year old nephew was excited to play. read more
