It was decorated so beautifully with white lights all around on the inside but the vintage and antique feel is what made it a hidden gem. The bathrooms are so clean and designed well. This place is spacious and was able to accommodate a meet in greet, full buffet and then had another room for dining and a presentation. The staff who help serve us food were amazing. I give this place a 10/10. I'm not sure what else this space is used for but it would be amazing to host a wedding reception here as well or company event.

Even the restrooms are stylish, with gold fixtures that add a touch of elegance. Drinks are affordably priced between $7-$9. I had the Whiskey Sour, and Gabe--our bartender--prepared it with egg whites, which was a great touch. I also tried the Old Fashioned, which is a pre‑batched pour. I'm perfectly fine with that given the reasonable price point. They use the Toast POS system, so checkout is quick and organized. The business is also within easy walking distance of the DoubleTree--less than five minutes, right in the hotel's backyard. I will definitely return when passing through.

However, it is also a museum of sorts. For starters, it is one of the only historic homes I've visited where majority of the framework, fisxtures, furnishings and finishing are the originals from when the home was constructed. It costs $10/person to view and you have free reign to walk about the entire house to see and learn about the different aspects of it. The house was deeded to a preservation society and there are volunteers in each room waiting to enlighten the visitors on the house's history. It was fully decorated for the Christmas season with lavish trees and ornaments everywhere. It was a lot, but very tasteful. If you're into history, decor, old homes or antiques, you should definitely stop here if you're in Abilene. Oh... they also have cookies!
