I contracted with Powers to add some additional hardwood in my home, together refinishing my existing hardwood floors to match all. Their bid was competitive, and the plus for me was the clear communication throughout the process, and the fact they were able to address additional work at the same time. They were professional and exhibited care of my home and belongings throughout the process. We were able to coordinate the Swedish Finish with a planned vacation to minimize the inconvenience to us. Each day that workmen were scheduled to arrive, I knew approximately what time they would be there and the work that was planned. While the finish time was delayed due to reasonable issues (I agreed to revised time) they worked with me to complete some work over a weekend so I was able to get back in the home quickly. Had our hardwood floors done while on vacation. The hardwood floors look great, but the house was a complete mess when we got home and my brand new kitchen had chips taken out all over the baseboards as well as two doors. Have spent 20+ hours cleaning the walls, doors and doorframes because they were yellow with stain. Also did not complete the total job as they weren't able to finish the railing which we didn't find out until the last day. Worst of all is Powers Contracting is unwilling to compensate for the damage done to the $6000 kitchen remodel that's 60 days old and told me he wasn't a maid service to clean my house when he was done. I was told that the "money saved" on the project I should use fix the "minor damage" done to my kitchen. I've had many projects done at my home over the past two years but the lack of accountability is mind blowing. The best part is I had to show him pictures of the damage to the cabinet doors and then he admitted to it......maybe he was hiding it? Overall, I would keep searching for other companies to do your hardwood floor remodel. Definitely a bad experience and wouldn't want anyone to go through this, and I'm still not done as my railing isn't finished! read more

Contacted this company to bid a project. They promised if they couldn't come out that day then it would be the next business day. Asked lots of questions and sounded knowledgeable and professional. Called the next business day since they didn't come out that day and left a message. No return call, nothing. If you can't at least return a potential customer phone call then you aren't as professional as you claim to be. read more

Powers Contracting was referred to me by someone very close when I was in need of replacing the flooring in a large section of my home. The house had just sustained severe damaged due to a major windstorm causing trees to come through the roof and the result was that roughly half of the home needed to be rebuilt. At a time of utter chaos, (relocating, dealing with insurance and multiple contractors) Ryan was able to easily explain what my flooring options were. The house had hardwood floors under carpet so carpet was removed, the original flooring that could be saved was restored and the sections that could not be saved were replaced. Ryan made sure to keep me informed of their processes and progress while the job was underway. The team at Powers Contracting was able to work with the other contractors regarding scheduling which could not have been easy since it involved framers, electricians, roofers, drywall installation and painters.... All while trying to stay on a tight schedule. This was just over 10 years ago and I still love the hardwood floors that they installed. I have used Powers Contracting two times. The first time was six years ago to install a wood floor in our downtown condo. Danny, Ryan, and their staff did a GREAT job. They know the ins and outs of working in a condo...following all rules of the association. They did the demolition and installation and were very professional/prompt and courteous. Most recently, we had another condo for sale....we were waiting for the sale to close when an overflowing toilet ran a whole weekend! I called Powers contracting. Ryan understood our predicament....he immediately went to get samples and create an estimate. He undersaands how to deal with insurance companies and had his team work through the weekend in order to get our floor finished...allowing the sale to close! Ryan also made an extra effort to talk to the buyer to put his mind at ease. Once again...they did a beautiful job. Ryan's communication is second to none.
