Great place decent prices staff was really kind and helped me out. A lot of great stuff the selection could be better but all around 10/10

After arriving in Myrtle Beach SC for a visit with the family, we all zipped over to nearby Conway since my mother had some shops that she wanted to visit. Since there was a comic book store nearby I knew where I would be spending my wait time while they did their own thing. Upon arrival, I had to say that Power Comics was quite deceiving and didn't look to be all that big from the outside. Wow was I wrong because once I headed inside I saw that the place was huge. The display case counter where you pay is off to the left once you enter and all around are shelves, racks and stands of all kinds with every bit of geeky coolness that one could hope to find. On the main floor they had a few tables loaded with long boxes for books that had moved off of the current releases batch over to the back issues but sadly I didn't manage to find the one single item I was looking for at the moment. This isn't their fault of course and I am just adding more words to the Yelp ;p On higher shelves above the reach of most people were the pricier issues and I mean comics that were in the high hundreds of dollars each. The main floor also had a massive Funko Pop section that I only looked at from afar. I didn't want to find myself snagging any of those since I didn't have the biggest suitcase with me for this trip. Truth be told my Pop additions are few and far between anyway. The glass counter had a number of collectible card sets. On the second floor was the pricier stuff with numerous gigantic statues that ran from the low to high thousands of dollars. I loved quite a few of them but I've neither the space nor the finances to bring even one of them into my small NYC apartment. Among the impressive statues were the Venom-Pool, a cross between Venom and Deadpool and an amazing Skeletor lifesize bust and chest piece. Eventually my folks joined me here and my father was impressed at the level of geek recognition I had for most of these characters. I joked that I could name more Avengers than Yankees or Mets on any day of the week. There were also some long boxes up there as well and they seemed to hold full runs of limited series and a number of collected editions. I didn't thoroughly peruse them so if there were more in there to discover I hope you find something you desire. My exploration found me discovering one of the McFarlane Toys KISS "Psycho Circus" action figures. It was the Space Ace one and with the legendary Ace Frehley having passed last year I just had to grab it. I do wish that they had The Demon but I didn't see one. The staffer onsite was not too chatty but it was early and there is a lot of store to pay attention to so I don't fault them for that. Suffice it to say there is a little something for everyone and I highly recommend this place if you should be in or near Conway, SC for anything. I look forward to going again when I return down to these parts. read more

This is an amazing place and very worthy of your support and business. They have an extensive selection of new and vintage comic books, books, and so much more. Bobble heads, Lego sets, action figures of all sizes and shapes, including pieces that cost thousands of dollars (just fun to look at). We typically spend a long time just gawking in astonishment! My husband is into comics and action figures, let me tell you he had a blast! He found good comics, a couple of movies, and action figures. The place is actually pretty big than I expected they had downstairs and upstairs. And I think they were even trying to open the third floor but was getting it fixed. Not sure but it was such a big store! Most things are organized and they kept the store clean. The employees were super friendly and helpful! There was lots and lots of figures and comics! Like it was insanely a lot! The prices to most things are exactly what it should be priced for and some are a little pricy. But it just really depends on what you are looking for. I had caught ahead to sell comics to them and a large quantity. When I get there, my first impression was that the store clerk didn't even want to be there. He told me he would look at him later, so I offered to give him my number to call me back and he decided he would look at him anyways he flipped through him doesn't look a single one of them up on the computer to see the actual value and tells me he'd give me 20 bucks for it if you're looking to sell comics and a large quantity do not come here. read more

I stopped by this store on the way to the beach. Was a fairly nice store with decent selection. Prices on graded books were high, in my opinion, with few exceptions. I asked about some raw books and or back issues and was told they put most of that stuff on eBay. The guys looked up the stuff on the computer and told me what they had, but never offered to show me any of it. He was friendly enough. If I wanted to shop your store on eBay, I would have done so. Maybe you should determine if you want to stay in the brick and mortar business. read more

I highly recommend Power Comics. Jakob was working the first time I came and he worked with me and Brian, the owner, on 2 bigger purchases. They are very knowledgeable people, fun to talk to, and fair with their pricing. I really enjoyed this store and it had a lot of great collectibles and comics items. Check it out if you're a collector! Also, they are a sideshow distributor and I picked up a Hot Toy and a Sideshow piece. Great store! read more

Don't waste your time! All this comic book shop cares about is finding high grade comics and then shipping them off to get graded so they can TRIPLE their money! That leaves all of their back issues in the box low grade, and looking dirty and dingy. read more

Awesome shop and much needed on this side of Myrtle Beach. No shortage of comics or toys here! Just opened recently and the stock is incredible, especially if those old school Marvel, McFarlane, and TMNT toys from the 90's -early 2000's are your thing. They have a great staff that is helpful and friendly. Do not expect to get the "comic store guy" from The Simpsons type treatment here. I've been to a number of stores during my decades in the trenches as a collector and I have to say that I've been to too many shops where they price items unrealistically, Not so here, they price realistically based on what they are going for on the web. In other words, you're not walking into a museum with price tags. They are also resourceful enough to locate something for you if they don't have it in stock and order it. One tip though for anyone trying to locate the place using GPS. It's in Carolina Forest in the Food Lion shopping center. GPS will send you all the way into Conway for some reason. This happened to me and the only reason I mention it is that they told me that I wasn't the only one that this has happened to. Very worth checking out, especially if you live on the south end of MB and the trek to the north end up to the great shops up there is a bit out of your way. read more
