Big store

Get ready to nerd out on whatever it is you nerd out on because this place has it all... almost. From comics to every type of video game, new to used, and even arcade games. Whatever geekdom you're looking to conquer you can do it here. Unfortunately, they don't have vinyl albums or I would have been there for hours. This shop is pretty big and the only one of it's kind I've seen around here. I grew up in Boston going to Newbury Comics and it kind of had a similar feel. You can even find things like Funco Pop characters, a wide selection of anime, and card games like Pokemon and Magic. This mall is dying out but Players Choice is probably one of the main reasons it's still kicking. Go check it out!

So cool...so fun...so unique...loved it all! This was pretty much the first stop on our things to do while in Myrtle Beach for a week long vacation. It did not disappoint! There's something for everyone here! Comics, Pokémon and Nintendo plush, posters, dice, Magic, video games for every console for the last 30 years, working arcade games and pinball machines and more!!! It's all amazing! It was so neat to look through all the old video games especially from the Super Nintendo and Game Cube era which is such a throwback to my youth. My husband and 9 yr old son enjoyed every minute here too! Everything was so clean and organized too! The store is inside the Myrtle Beach Mall and is a must visit!

If you're a video gamer or love comics or superheroes, you're going to enjoy Player's Choice. It's not as great of a place if you're looking for a wide selection of D&D-games or board games. THINGS TO KNOW: -They actually have an arcade with arcade games right in the store! It's pretty awesome! -The storefront is entirely located inside the mall. You won't be able to get into the store without walking inside the mall. This is possibly the only hobby store I've seen located in a mall like this - but they have a gigantic space in the mall, so they're probably pretty happy with it. -The store sells a lot of neat stuff including stuff you didn't know you wanted. They have video games, lots of comic books, lots of nerdy collectibles including a giant collection of those Funko toys. They sell old games like PS1, game boy games, and more. PROS: -Lots and lots of rare video games. That's always awesome. Even for old systems such as the original PlayStation or Game Boy Color. -Prices are very reasonable. They're usually within $5 of what Amazon would sell it for. I'd much rather buy it local than save that tiny chunk of change. -Staff is super helpful. They seem just as nerdy as the customers they cater to. CONS: -Doesn't have board games. For hobby stores like this, I really expect a board game section. It's a bit odd. You're going to find a larger board game selection at Books-A-Million in the same mall.

This was probably the best classic video game store I have ever been too. The selection is second to none. The prices are competitive with any other store I've seen. The best part is the classic arcade games. There is a separate arcade next to the the store, with a bunch of old-school games. All of these games are only $0.25 to play. Lots of variety to choose from. You certainly won't be disappointed if you visit.

Went with my parents, and they absolutely loved the arcade. They mentioned that it felt like they took a step back in time. The store was great as well. I could spend a few hours playing and browsing around. I recommended a few friends to stop in.

My father (83) and my son (25) will be thrilled with their replacement Wii console and can make memories together again gaming! Thanks so much Dillon and Game Giant, Wilmington!!

If you want to buy or sell used games, forget about gamestop! My first encounter with Game Giant…read morewas about a year and a half ago. I had found my Game Boy Advanced SP and charger, and so had my roommate from college. We decided we wanted a link cable. We found this place online and showed up- they had a box with about 15 or 20 link cables in it and we were able to pick the color we wanted. They had an OEM Nintendo cable too, but we were low on funds and opted for the aftermarket part. This newfound game boy and link cable began a sort of romanticism for me for retro gaming. I have continued to go back since then, buying games here and there or accessories... and over time, it has become my go-to store for physical purchases of games if possible. That leads me to what I truly love about Game Giant: they continue to breathe life into the consoles and games and history that would not be found in Wilmington otherwise. GG also charges fair prices, and sometimes their prices are even cheaper than the industry standard (Buy used switch games from here!!! They are very competitively priced!). They stock rare items, complete editions of older games (I saw them sell an original copy of Zelda the other day), they can probably solder and repair any damaged part of your gaming system, and best of all they give great advice and are very helpful with amazing customer service. Of course they also buy old games and give you store credit or cash if you happen to have anything lying around :) Game enthusiasts: be sure to add this to your list!

Even though small, they have quite a variety of collectibles. Including comics, games, action figures, records, etc. A nice mix of comics from 60s and up. A couple of old issues that I either have or have had in the past. It was a pleasant experience and nice chat about all things collectible.

While the shop itself isn't massive in scope, they are stock-piled with a whole lot of awesome stuff. There is a heavy emphasis on action figures and I saw plenty of the Marvel Legends, GI Joe and Star Wars figures along with several groups of classic toys as well, meaning older editions of this stuff that either were of their own personal collections or from others who wished to part with the treasures. Also before you ask, yes they have Funko Pops. Of course there are comic books both new and more vintage and while some of those are in boxes, the higher priced editions are up above on racks or the wall space to be showcased better. I didn't purchase anything despite having my eyes set on the brand-new Hasbro Cobra Commander. I didn't bring a big suitcase with me so I only had so much room to carry stuff back. The staff was friendly and I encourage all like-minded geeks to pay them a visit. There is surely a little something for all ages of collector.
