I originally chose Luna just from a picture because she looked like the cutest dog ever--and she somehow turned out even better than I could've imagined. The communication throughout the entire process was incredible. I always got responses within the hour, and they sent me updated photos every Monday, which made the wait so much more exciting. You can tell they really care about their dogs and the people adopting them. Pickup day was extremely organized and smooth. They made everything easy and stress-free, and they sent me home with everything I needed--food, toys, a blanket, and helpful information to get started. What has impressed me the most is how well-behaved and easy Luna has been to train. She picks things up in just 1-2 days, was potty trained within a week, and was already sleeping through the night in her crate by day three. Training her has honestly been a breeze. She also has the sweetest personality. She's loving, caring, and playful, and she's been amazing around my one-year-old niece. Even when babies grab at her, she has never nipped or shown any aggression--she's incredibly gentle. She does great with other dogs too, always kind and friendly. This is hands down the best breeder I've ever worked with. It's so clear they genuinely love and care for their animals, and it really shows in the quality and temperament of their dogs. I will absolutely be coming back to Dachshund Dude Ranch for any future dogs. I can't recommend them enough.

He's great, but he's a cat. Wally. In March 2019, we welcomed Leo, a chocolate lab. He has stolen my heart, completely. Now, at 90lbs, he even sleeps on our bed, which had you tried to convince me this would be the case a year ago, I'd have laughed. All that to say that as we prepare to go away on vacation next week, I was getting totally stressed about where Leo was going to stay. Wally...he could go in and out of the garage and survive with someone coming by every couple days with food and fresh water. But Leo? There was no way I wanted to leave him in a kennel.
