My husband and I got our new baby dachshund from Dachshund Dude Ranch and he is the cutest little doxie in the entire world! We've been wanting a dachshund for a while and searched all over Texas until we found Molly from Dachshund Dude Ranch. She is located just 1hr away from San Antonio, which was perfect for us. At the beginning, I wasn't too sure of getting a dog from a breeder and had a lot of questions about her dogs, the puppies, etc. Molly was great at answering all my questions and keep us informed of the status of the new litters. After selecting our baby boy, we placed a deposit on him and picked him up a few weeks later. When we got there, we got to see all of the beautiful dachshunds that she owns, and how happy they all are. Molly was really nice and gave us a goodie bag of toys that are perfect for puppies, a small blanket and all of the necessary information to register him. We've had Francisco aka Franky for over 2 weeks now and he is just the best!

Gretchen at 9 weeks - Mrs. Texas' 40th Anniversary Gift of Love

I started looking for a red shorthair female dachshund in January of 2020. I found a local breeder, but after four months of checking in with them on a monthly basis, they gave me Molly and the Dachshund Dude Ranches (DDR) contact info, and they said I'd have better luck at finding what I wanted at the DDR. I contacted Molly on May 16th, 2020 and told her what I wanted. She couldn't help me at the time, but told me to continue to check in. On July 5th, 2020 she told me she had two females that were pregnant. One female ended up having a red male, so we waited to see what the other female would have. Molly gave me the news I had been waiting for. She had a red dapple shorthair female named Gretchen. I was excited. Now mind you, this was to be a 40th Anniversary Gift for Mrs. Texas, and it was a secret. Molly explained everything to me to include the down payment, the final payment, the requirements of her being fixed, when she would be ready for pick up, and Molly also answered every other question that I had as well. It was a flawless experience. The first step was to complete a form, and the security deposit. Then Molly told me how to keep track of Gretchen via weekly photos. I used these photos to create a scrap book showing her birthdate, pictures of Gretchen's parents, and her growth from weeks 2 through 8. It was awesome to see these weekly photos. Molly and I communicated weekly through the process. When she was ready for pick up, we set the date and time. My daughter and I drove up from Liberty Hill on August 25th, 2020 to pick up Gretchen, and yes, Mrs. Texas still didn't have a clue what was happening. She thought we were both headed to work. We arrived at the DDR, met Gretchen, completed some paperwork, paid the remaining balance, and we were on our way. Again, it was a very pleasant and flawless process. Before we left they gave us a gift bag that contained a homemade jacket for Gretchen, a couple of chew toys, a blanket, some puppy food, some shampoo, along with all the paperwork and instructions on potty training, feeding, and the vet requirements for getting her fixed, and the schedule for the remainder of her shots. Thanks to Molly, her staff, and the DDR, for making this a very flawless and pleasurable experience, and for making Mrs. Texas very happy with her gift of love.

I'll be honest that I tagged along here to return 2 puppies to make sure the one they kept did not come from a puppy mill. Everyone who knows me nose I rescue bully dogs and am super against breeding so what am I doing reviewing a Dachshund breeder? My dear Sissy and her family recently lost their Petland mini Doxie and having 3 kids they went to this breeder to replace her and came home with 3 puppies... Not sure how I can be related to this woman but I love her so much! My Sister was so overwhelmed without the proper mourning of their loss so they called to see if they could return 2 of the puppies. That is where my visit to the Dachshund Dude Ranch came in... I was expecting the worse until we pulled up to the arched iron entrance and drove down a tree lined drive to a beautiful home. Instead of the outside living quarters I expected all the dogs live inside as family members and they limit the breeding. While I would never pay 600.00 for an AKC dog I am head over heels in love with my new fur nephew. He is one of Paige and Tuckers babies - a beautiful long hair black & tan dapple piebald and just as sweet as they come. If you are looking for a pure breed mini Dachshund I would recommend Molly and Rich's Doxies!

I got two dachshunds from Molly. A male and a female (not at the same time). Both are absolutely wonderful dogs with great temperaments. Our Larka is playful and is just the sweetest girl and loves getting attention from everyone she meets. Barley is playful but also has a calmer demeanor and is just a snuggle bug Molly was super easy to work with and super kind. Her sister met me at the airports with both of them and was super kind as well. Both pups came to me at great weights, nice healthy coats, and well socialized. Papers took a bit but being a breeder myself I know how busy it gets and puppy/parent care comes ABSOLUTELY first. It is hard to understand from a buyer's view about the time and effort it takes to raise puppies, not only talk to one but several buyers, keep up with past buyers, put the care and time in for the adults that she does, etc. Do not let the 2 star review keep you from getting a well cared for pup from Molly. I highly recommend her and will get another in the future from her.

We love our Penny! We got her from this breeder back in 2014. We get comments all the time on how calm she is and beautiful. Her demeanor is very sweet and cuddly. She is great with kids and other dogs. She travels with me regularly on a plane with no issues. She loves everybody and the attention they give her! The breeder sent me pictures the weeks leading up to me picking her up. The breeder's facility was very clean and friendly. She gave us a tour and everything! I would highly recommend this breeder and only get my next Doxie from her!

Our Honey girl from DDR!

We are madly in love with our puppy from the dachshund dude ranch. She is the most loving, calm, and happy girl. It's obvious Molly loves and takes great care of her pets. If ever we're looking for another member of the family we'll be first in line for one of Molly's babies!

When my pups were at DDR. Dash is an Isabella Tan Tuxedo Piebald. Dinah is a Chocolate Tan Piebald with Ticking.

We searched numerous breeders to adopt two dachshunds. We had just had to put our beagle to rest and a dachshund 2 years prior. When we came across DDR's website we were amazed! There was a puppy with markings like a beagle!! Her brother was equally unique - an isabella/tan! We fell in love and contacted Molly. Molly is by far the best breeder out there! She truly loves what she does and shows in the care that is given to the puppies. She kept me posted up until the puppies were ready to come to my home. She was even kind enough to hold them for a couple of weeks due to my scheduling conflicts. The puppies were flown from TX to FL. Molly called me shortly after the plane landed to make sure that everything was perfect. It was! I cannot be happier with choosing puppies from Dachshund Dude Ranch.

I grew up as a "cat person"--we had a Siamese who lived to be 22. And Siamese are kind of mean. My…read moreonly interactions with dogs were with my grandfather's hunting dog, Dickie, during a two-week stay in Rhode Island each summer. Two years ago we got a cat with our boys. He's great, but he's a cat. Wally. In March 2019, we welcomed Leo, a chocolate lab. He has stolen my heart, completely. Now, at 90lbs, he even sleeps on our bed, which had you tried to convince me this would be the case a year ago, I'd have laughed. All that to say that as we prepare to go away on vacation next week, I was getting totally stressed about where Leo was going to stay. Wally...he could go in and out of the garage and survive with someone coming by every couple days with food and fresh water. But Leo? There was no way I wanted to leave him in a kennel. Along came Lone Star Pet Ranch, which we heard about from a friend who has brought her dog here for 7 years. We brought him there yesterday for a 1/2-day "Playcare" session in preparation for a week there. I could write as much below from a positive viewpoint as I wrote above from an anxious one. *Everything* about the Pet Ranch gives me confidence that Leo will be both well taken care of and also have the time of his life, like he's at doggie camp.
