PROS + Mike tries to address the cause of the problem. I have lost a total of 7 fence posts in the past 5 years because they rot. Mike used the Rotbloc Wrap to prevent the posts from rotting under the ground. + Mike was able to give me a free estimate and repaired my face. There were delays but he did it in the end. I tried to get a quote from big names in town, but I couldn't. CONS -Both times when I hired Mike, there was a problem with details, some big, some small. First time (2019), his crew fixed my fence but didn't do a good job. He had to come back to fix it himself. Second time (2021), I notice that one of the posts was longer and a few of them were shorter than other posts. He fixed the post that was too long, but there was nothing that could be done with the two posts that are too short (by about 6 inches). ADVICE *Make sure to inspect the site when they are done to make sure everything looks good. *Get quotes from other contractors. I found out later that a Yelper friend of mine in town hired a different contractor and paid less than half of what I paid. I could be comparing apples and oranges, but both he and I had 4 posts replaced in January 2021. Send me a private message if you want to know who my Yelp friend used. *Pay cash/check. There's a 3.9% processing fee for credit card payments. Overall, I'm happy with M & M, and I think I will use them again. We opted for Busy Boys because we were impressed with Mike's thoroughness and attention to detail. We took three quotes and his was the middle one but we would have choosen him even if he came in on top. Once the work started, his crew was on time and they were good solid workers. Most of the roof was redone on the first day. We had an aging skylight and Mike recommended it be replace. He was also an authorized installer for that brand. I wish we had had him do the initial install 20 years ago. It was done so quickly and efficiently. We had to compliment the crew for their clean-up. Our deck was cleaner after they were done than it had been. A bit of trash had fallen in our neighbours yard and that was also taken care of. On the final inspection, we noticed a metal bracket sticking up on the corner of the roof and asked Mike about it. To direct rainwater run-off into our gutters. Very nice.
