The price was higher than other places (1270 real for 2 nights for 4) but it looked really nice. Of course you never know in advance how well it reflects the reality. However, in this case it exceeded our expectations. The whole complex is lovely and incredibly clean and well maintained. We had a little bungalow for 4 in the main garden overseeing the mountains and the sea. Plants, colours, equipment, wood, make the settings pleasant and cute. The best part about staying there was the relaxing view from the pool on our long chairs. We didn't do much on the island because we were just fine spending the whole day at the pousada. The staff is really nice, we ordered drinks (coconut water, cocktails, champagne, soft drinks, large choice) and food (small dishes such as crepes) that was delicious and nicely brought to us. My favourite moment was the breakfast. You sit outside on little wood benches but protected from the sun by a deck also made in wood, the food is homemade and delicious. We had different type of fresh juices, many great sort of fruits (mango, pineapple, bananas, papaya, watermelon, melon, ...), cakes (carrot, coco, orange, chocolate, all homemade, we saw them being prepared), customised tapioca pancakes according to our preferences (cheese, vegetables, meat to pick from), cereals, yoghurts, many types of bread, eggs, sausages, everything you can think of. And again the staff was so sweet, cooking and bringing food once the buffet diminishes. We also got bikes for free for 2 hours, ideal to get some lunch in town. There is a nice bike path next to the pousada going to the old town. Now regarding the room itself, it was nice, clean, charming, we loved it a first sight. The only thing that was minder and important to know, when you rent the bungalow for 4, there is a nice mezzanine with a double bed but the 2 others have to sleep in the living room on the couch that becomes 2 separate beds. I was a bit disappointed with that at first but it was absolutely compensated with all the rest. Also cleaning ladies come during the day to arrange everything so you get you living room back for the rest of the day. In short, I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and would come back if given the opportunity. A real peaceful gem!
