We've been going a lot to Tescos lately and been very happy with the prices and quality. Now we…read morestayed in Hopeman and this M&S was the next bigger Grocery Store. We've been to M&S several times before and always liked the quality - even though a bit pricey sometimes. This one here is medium sized in the middle of Elgin. Fruit, veggy and meat selection is good and they had some really good dry-aged scottish Steaks. Nice cheese plates too for very affordable prices. The rest of the food section was a bit small. Yes, they got everything you need, but not much to choose from - not that much variety. The wine section was a bit of a let-down. Not that much choice and mostly french wines - which i'm not that much into (you can get similar or better quality wines from other countries for less, but that's just my opinion). Staff here was very friendly and helpful. All in all still a good choice, especially for the meat section. But given the choice - I'll go to Tesco again next time (yes...laugh all you want).

Do you know that some people ask how much things are in Poundland?!!…read more Be careful though not everything is as cheap as it seems - lots of the biscuits are cheaper in the supermarket. The toiletries do seem to be good value for money though. Pundland is a great place to take kids to help them spend their pocket money since they have got loads of little nick nacks and it's easy for kids to work out how much money they have left. It's an ideal shop for stocking fillers and those junky bits and pieces that you think you need!

They sell everything from household cleaning products and other household items, to food and drink, toiletries, crafts items, clothing, diy, dvd/cd's and lots of other nick nacks. They are very good with keeping up with the seasons and usually have a spectacular display. I usually make the 20 minute trip just to go to poundland and pick up a few bargains. Definately a must during these credit crunch days. perfect for tightening the belt but still having those extra treats! prices = wel the name says it all - everything is a quid!!!

Edinburgh Woollen Mill
If you are searching for a shop to purchase souvenirs in Edinburgh, Scotland, then Edinburgh Woolen…read moreMill is a store that you may want to check out. They carry a ton of different merchandise made in Scotland. You can find everything from clothes to food and everything in between. Unfortunately, we only had about 30 minutes to explore the store. It was not enough time to find great deals. The products we were interested in were priced higher than other stores we had visited that day. We ended up purchasing nothing. There were staff present, but no one assisted us. If someone had, then we probably would have bought some goods. Although, we were unsuccessful in finding good deals, you may be lucky. Check them out for yourself when you are visiting Edinburgh, Scotland.
So the three stars is because this store only had ONE small table of sweaters made in England!!…read more The name is very misleading as nothing in the store is made in Edinburgh, or indeed anywhere in Scotland, and so if you purchase anything from this shop, the money isn't really supporting local industry. On the plus side, you can get everything at a great price, but for me, I really want to shop and support local. The gentleman at the counter was really very nice and friendly, but overall I was disappointed. Yelp 70/ 2019

Johnston's has been granted both Royal Warrant of Appointment for Manufacturing Estate Tweeds, Knitwear and Woven Accessories and The King's Award for Enterprise: International Trade 2024. And they keep bees, just because it's in line with their environmentally conscious, B Corp rated way of thinking. I admit, the tour we took was not high on my list of things to do in Scotland, but that was before I took the tour. It was very informative and educational, and I so enjoyed seeing the production end of things. I took a ton of pictures and geeked out a bit about midway through. The items in the shop are high end, meaning pricey, but so clearly way above average and of exceptional quality. I happily succumbed.

You will find here mainly food and hygiene products. Long lines but quickly going. Not for every day shopping but very helpful especially for tourists. Costco

Costco sell electrical goods such as tvs, cd players and things such toys, clothes, video games, alcohol, flowers, all different kinds of foods and lots more! When it comes to the food and drink, they either usually sell things in bulk packets, or in larger sized bottles/cans etc, and everything is cheaper here than in other shops. They also have an opticians section, though I have never used it before. There is also a little cafe area serving tea, coffee, pizza and cake at very cheap prices. A great place to stock up on things!
Fantastic place!…read more Be aware that there is a membership charge, I think currently £28 a year, you get two cards for this price. However it is worth every penny for this. They are a huge warehouse, they stock a large variety of products, mainly very good quality. The products are not the cheap stuff you usually find in a cash and carry type place. They have amazing jewellery (for the same price as a flat!), their electrical department offers excellent prices. There are always good deals in their quarterly deals 'passport', however, you will need lots of space in your house for all the toilet paper and chopped tomatoes! Service is good and relaxed. The cafe area is great on the way out, baked potato and chilli etc for £1.25, cup of tea for 25p etc. I can't say enough about how great this place is!
Miss Selfridge
This is one of my favourite shops in Aberdeen for accessorise and work dresses…read more I always get compliments and asked where did I buy it. In particular they are good in ear cuffs and embellished/sequin dresses but one must remember, MS is a compromise between price and quality and such stuff doesn't last long, this kind of dresses are made mainly to wear once/to look at or one has to be very careful once wearing them. I think this is a good shop when you want something decent/different looking for OK price. You can find some steals there, but you also have to watch out because some items can have the quality at the level of Primark. There is also second MS within Outlet close to Union Square, where you can find a little different range of products. Or you can buy online and have it delivered to the store, which I use quite often. There are sometimes slaw vouchers online, but then again sometimes you will find even better deals in store }:)

Brodie country fayre is a kind of rustic department store near Brodie castle. It has a range of clothes and homewear products. At the back is a department store style restaurant, however, the specials do seem to be just that. I had slow roasted pork with a apple and red cabbage accompaniment in a rich gravy which I really enjoyed. Whilst most of the products weren't for me, the deli section was great. Of course it's a bit pricey, but I think for an occasional treat that's ok, and the quality really was good. I probably won't return to Brodie country fayre for anything but food, but don't let that put you off. If you can spare some time and you're in the area pop in. And if the word saga often appears in your holiday choices, this is probably something you would REALLY enjoy. I'd recommend it.
