went to smiths today!!!!!!!!!I had a great experience ,we needed to get some plants for the garden…read moreand we were really sucsessful today.I was really pleased with the experience today.There were thousands of plants in the garden centre,there were a lot in the inside area and an absolute abundance of plants outside.Also all plants were well kept and very watered,actually helped me keep cool in all this heat,they obviously take pride in each and every one of their plants.Also there is so much stock of everything(plants and non-plants).This has really pleased me as I've seen some garden centres which has hardly any plants and they are all neglected.However in this garden centre,they even have Christmas trees in June,but I suppose today(the day I wrote my review)is only 6 months till Christmas Eve!!!!!!!!!But I cannot see why you can't have a Christmas tree in June if you want to.I brought 3 small ones!!!!!!!!!Also I've been to garden centres in Christmas and they haven't had christmas trees.Also they were really well staffed as well,and our cashier was polite and even offered for someone to help us load the car.Also the smiths golf thing right at the back of the garden centre looks great and I'm sure will make a lot of money for the garden centre.Also their drive thru concept to collect soil was good and very well thought out,it's like a McDonald's drive thru but you show you're receipt to staff and then drive on to get the soil.Lovely experience!!!!!!!!

It offers an extremely comprehensive range of products. Staff in the outside area can be hard to find but there are knowledgeable staff available if you need advice as I did when selecting a fruit tree for my garden. The level of customer service is high, I was surprised to discover that if you buy a heavy bag of fertiliser or compost it will be taken to your car on an electric carrier! So all in all a recommended place to go for garden supplies and products.

I'm not a keen gardener but they appear to have lots of nice house and bedding plants. As a local resident, I mainly go to Flowerland for the coffee shop. The ladies who work there are lovely and the food is really nice. There are inside and outside seating areas and you will always find a space to sit, even with a pram.

Vermeulen's is a big garden centre situated between Staines and Heathrow Airport. Though it's a large place it's somehow isn't very impressive and though I've been there loads of times I don't think I've actually ever bought anything. The plants always look like they've seen better days and could do with a water. There's an acquatic centre and a pet shop - I've never felt that the animals are well looked after and the signs up everywhere saying that they won't refund you if your purchase dies when you get it home are a bit of a worry. Its located on the A4 in the Slough Retail Park which also houses Comet and others and the retail park was recently bought up by the Crown Estates which is the trading arm of the Royal family. I thought they were claiming poverty?! One example of great customer service was when I needed another door that B & Q had been selling. They no longer stocked them but one of the staff rang many different stores until he located one and transferred it over. I had already costed out getting one made and it would have been £300 compared to the £45 at B & Q! This store (and probably B & Q in general) has gone way beyond DIY and sells all sorts of things, but unlike Homebase which has gone all frilly and sells everything you don't need (I couldn't even get a fuse box in Homebase recently) B & Q has retained its core product but has now gone way beyond that whilst still retaining key principles in DIY. The staff are very knowlegable as many are former Tradespersons and nothing is too much trouble. They have often ordered stuff in for me when they haven't had it. I'm sure millions of people on a budget have transformed their homes into little palaces thanks to B & Q. Well worth a visit.
