Home Bargains is just the best. Even when I go in and can't find the thing/s I went in for I always come out with something ace instead. It really is what I would call a 'general store' and I bloody love it. And bargainous it is indeed - famous branded items from tinned tuna fish to hair dye to baby wipes are so much cheaper than in the larger supermarkets. You really can make great savings here. It can be a bit frustrating when an item that has been in stock for months suddenly isn't (and this can happen a fair bit) but just go down the next aisle and I bet you anything you'll spot a nice notebook or a set of Mason Jars with stripey straws or a multipack or electrical tape or a jar or Filippo Berio about a quarter of the price it would be in Tesco that will cheer you up. So I won't be able to do any laundry this evening as they didn't have any fabric conditioner but I have just put my herb pots into three rather lovely enamel mugs. And I've got a new silicone loaf tin. I don't even bake. Brilliant.

This shop is invaluable to anyone but more so if you're a low income family…read more They stock an extensive range of branded products at cheaper prices then most super markets etc. I tend to get all my toiletries from here and domestic cleaning products etc. However, it gets better, they also stock a fairly good range of affordable toys and home wares and if you have a sweet tooth you'll be in heaven. Even if you're not in search of anything in particular it's always worth a look around as you'll be surprised at what you might find. Not all branches are as well laid out and stocked as others but the Breightmet branch is big, airy, nice wide aisles and has friendly staff.

First of all, cheap cheap cheap! You can find good products( private comany brand products) much cheaper than ordinary supermarkets. (N.B. Often near end of out of date though) I have got a Jamie Oliver spice with in a lovely tin for 30 p or someithng .Discovery tacos kit for a quid etc Swiss chocolate, jar of tomato sauce, can of tuna, Pringles etc The staff who served me looked so unpleasant with thier work and never says hello or thank you at check out. They just look so grampy and hate thier work. You can get things like tins of peas for 10p or chocolate bars for 15p so if you buy things in bulk you can save a lot of money indeed. For the home you can get cushion covers, throws, bed sets and cleaning items as well as candles, mirrors and bathroom goods. You can save a lot of money indeed with careful shopping so I would recommend B&M highly for bargain hunters.

Cheap and cheerful is the motto - not officially but I'm guessing it's what it would be - as 'top brands at bargain prices' is the name of the game. I can't say that I have been to any HB much bigger than this store but HB's are not somewhere to do your weekly shop but more a place to get daily essentials.

It is a store filled with top brands at bottom prices and the variety of basic home essentials, canned and quick snacks they sell makes it an ideal source where you can buy general everyday items. Sometimes you can get away without having to go to the bigger stores as you can often find cheaper prices and get better value for money here. After all, it is really home and bargain! The service at each till is often busy but efficient and staff will put all your items into a carrier bag, so you don't have to. You can always trust this place and you can't really go wrong.

The store itself is quite large with mostly wide aisles that are easy to get about, although sometimes wire baskets of goods can be in the middle of the aisle blocking the way through a little. The stock is cheap and cheerful but often you can get a bargain of a big brand end of line item or a useful gadget and for only £1 you will probably find something useful. Stationery items are usually a good buy particularly at back to school times when you can get the kids kitted out for very little. Only two tills on the checkouts so often a bit of a queue to pay but the staff are quite quick to get through the queues.

Quality Save has 22 stores around the country, with some even stretching to Yorkshire. This store in particular is in Stretford, in the shopping centre. Starting on a negative, one thing I don't like about this store is that you have to pay to park in the arndale, which means you can't just run in this store to pick up a few "bargains", it is only somewhere you would visit when on foot or when you're visiting the mall anyway. This store is quite big and modern, and is actually quite similar to my local Middleton store. It is pretty much your average Quality Save with standard items and prices stocked here. The staff didn't seem to be too great, they were merely average and didn't seem to stand out as much as I'd of liked They is nothing much else to say really, as many people would agree with me, reviewing a shop can be hard, and this is pretty much your average one, hence a 3 star rating.

Their crockery ranges from low to high standards similarly with their electronic appliances so whatever you are seeking, there should be an item that wins you over 9 out of 10 times. Not to mention, the same goes with shoes; the place is packed with them! And clothes too, the list is endless. If you're looking to treat yourself or find a gift, then TJ's is probably your first port of call.

These bargains usually end up as my birthday or christmas presents. Like the much lamented Lewis' which has closed down on Renshaw Street, TJ's is a landmark store within the city. It is a much more modest department store than Lewis' was and can be seen as more of a front runner to the now universal pound shops. The key to TJ's is the bargains. It covers all sorts of quality products and ranges - although nothing exclusive or top of the range - and at the cheapest possible prices.
