Usual range of breakfast baps and also lunchtime favourites such as chicken, beef and ham, with or without salad, on a choice of barm cake or baton. Also paninis, jacket potatoes, salad boxes, soup of the day and a couple of specials which were cheeseburger and also chilli and rice. Cans of pop and a chocolate bar or two rounds off the menu. The batons are really quite big and generously filled and could easily be shared between two really, very tasty too. Although the shop itself doesn't look all that promising from the outside I'd recommend giving it a try. Update: upgraded my review from 4 stars to 5 stars after several visits. Friendly staff, excellent sandwiches. Highly recommended!

They cut the sandwich in two halves before wrapping it up, which helps if you are sort of hungry while walking...you can easily grab a half and save the rest for later on. I got the coronation chicken on bap bread the first day. FYI "bap" bread is just a soft white round roll. It's quite tasty, so much so that I got a sandwich the following day on it too. You can also get a sandwich on a baguette. The coronation chicken is pretty much curried chicken salad. It has raisins in it and lots of curry powder. Very good. The following day I got the smoked salmon and cream cheese and asked that they add cucumber. Cost £2.30. Holy ridiculous. $2.80 when converting. Even shitty cheap sandwich Subway is more expensive than that and it's shitty. Not sure how their prices are so low, but the smoked salmon was amazing and I felt like I spent pretty much nothing on lunch. Also get a flapjack. It's a brown sugar oat cake that is semi- healthy (oats) and super amazing (caramel).

Not sure if the British are just overly nice or if it was that good! After looking over a few reviews I found that a few of them came from Americans like myself and if I know anything about Americans on Yelp, they can be overly critical. Now I love supporting small businesses and I'm glad I did! Picnic Box is run by a sweet older couple cooking a prepping meals to order. As it was my first breakfast here in the UK I wanted to try a good ol English Breakfast. I got the smaller one: bacon, egg, sausage, beans and toast. I did not regret it. Now I've never had an English breakfast but I do know what good food taste like and it was great. I also ordered an iced latte no sugar added and it was made with one of those all-in-one machines and it was pretty good too. No complaints. I also order a tomato and cheese panini but I'll let you all know what that's like later. It does look delicious. Overall cost of my meal £10.10 and worth every penny. Overall I highly recommend supporting this business.

There are many sandwich shops, cafes and…read morebakeries in the small town of Poulton so business here is very competitive and this particular address has been through several hands in recent years and sadly none have lasted very long. So with this in mind I thought I'd give them a whirl. It has a fairly standard menu including sandwiches (barm or baton), salad boxes, breakfast baps, baked potatoes, soup, crisps, cakes and hot and cold drinks. Your sandwich is made fresh to order and all the ingredients are on display and all look very appealing. I had a chicken salad baton which was very pleasant but I did feel they were a bit ungenerous with the salad. Update I've been back several times since my initial review and must upgrade my review to 5 stars. The salad boxes in particular are lovely, a really good choice of items from the usual salad staples to pasta, couscous, rice, mixed beans, potato salad, coleslaw etc. etc. In fact if you ask for a bit of everything they are struggling to fit it all in the box! Lovely little shop, recommended.

Great breakfast baps cooked to order, my bacon sandwich was a lovely fresh soft roll filled with a really generous amount of tasty bacon, nice and hot and cooked just right. Hot pies and sausage rolls are available too, also tea, coffee and a good selection of cold drinks. When I visited they also were advertising a frozen chicken and ham plate pie and also cold pies which you could reheat for yourself later on which is a good idea. Friendly and efficient staff deal with a regular flow of customers with a cheerful smile. Great little takeaway offering a little bit more than your average sandwich bar and definitely worth checking out, I'll certainly be back, the choice of lunchtime rolls looked great!

Their menu's offer delicious combinations of fillings so there is usually something that suits everyone's taste. The food is all of a healthy nature and even their burgers are great quality. I ordered a burger (freshly cooked in a couple of minutes) with raw onions and mayonnaise for just £2 which was served in a large plain white bun; that definitely filled me and I would go back again whenever I'm in need of a convenient lunch. Since they boast such a wide variety of ingredients such as various pre-cooked meats, sliced salads and other condiments, the choice is really yours. In addition, they sell jacket potatoes which sound mouth-watering and tempting (especially on a cold day)! Clarke's Richmond Deli is much better than your average sandwich bar. If that could be a motto or brand slogan for a deli - sorry butty shop! - then that might be a good one for Clarke's. There seems to be little mucking about with things like rocket - which I hate, it is horrible no matter how many chefs and foodies use it these days, it's a weed! - Clarke's serve good, some might say traditional sandwiches, in a straightforward manner like roast beef, ham - just ham nowt fancy done to it - and various chickens - coronation and tikka basically - and all at very cheap prices - usually below £3 - for a good size butty.
