An excellent selection of pottery and yard art. A bit overpriced but the owner has been known to negotiate.

This man here has some talent. All we kept saying to each other "Look at this!" We asked him "who…read moredid this?", many times. He said "I am the best decorator I can be, without being gay". He has old stuff, new stuff, stuff he makes and stuff other folks make. I bought a few things and wish I had planned to spend more money. I didn't think I would do any shopping, since I was traveling with my dad. BIG MISTAKE, HUGE. I left wanting so much more. The good news I snapped pictures of the items I wanted and I recall him saying if I decide I want anything later he can send it with someone related to him who travels to Houston often! His store is also his home. He was actually having his breakfast there. Nice fellow. Says his commute to work is great. I bet! He also has a bed and breakfast, no, sorry, not the breakfast part, he said he isn't about that life. He made these cool little rooms, with patios, that look just comfy, cozy, cool, and I mean really cool rooms you can stay in for a very cheap price! You are on your own for breakfast, but he makes up for it by lending you his kayak, driving you and picking you up at the Guadalupe River! I want to stay in that boat of his with my kiddos and drink my morning coffee on the roof! I like to say I'm not needy, I'm wanty. I wanty come back!

Lots of rustic wood stuff, southwestern Native American jewelry and other jewelry. Was charged about 15 to 20 percent less than what was on the tags. Super deal! Friendly staff.

Comfort rolls up the sidewalks at 5pm, so we were happy to find this business open until 5:30 pm…read more That gave us 30 minutes to check out the shop. When we walked in we saw military helmets in a glass case, and lots of large, heavy furniture. The facebook page said they were a women's boutique, but the sign said decor, antiques and found items. We saw some women's clothing and some jewelry but for the most part there was an eclectic mix of altered art, some at very high prices, well out of our price range in any case, and miscellany. We really could not figure out what kind of store this is hoping to be. Because they are new I am giving an extra star to give them time to see what inventory moves and define themselves. My companions pretty quickly decided they weren't interested in anything, but I found a basket of some kind of floral head band fairy crown things and decided on one for my granddaughter. At the same time my friends found a new made wooden box with some folk art Noah's Ark scene painted on it. The price was about $35 so I decided to buy it as well. Afterwards I felt like it was kind of an impulse buy, but I did my part to patronize the new business. This store needs a bit of time to get organized and figure out what will sell in Comfort. I've been antique shopping in Comfort for 35 years, and this shop can fill a void from all the shops that have closed their doors in the past decades and moved to antiques malls. But not yet.

Super cute store curated with lots of treasures. Large selection of high quality antique furniture.read more

I always visit when I am back in the area, and today was my second visit in 2 years. Eva was on site and she is always willing to work with you for a sale. She has a nice indoor shop with a good variety of antiques and vintage. She likes to stock quality finds and it shows! Outside are some great yard art offerings and other kitschy stuff. I bought a metal cactus and a rusty roadrunner art piece, both made in Mexico. Eva offered them at 20% off! Those are going to my southwest loving mom back east There are several other buildings with offerings from vintage kitchen items to huge wooden store display pieces. I purchased a Royal Doulton figurine and the price was so good that when I saw this same item later today in another store, I paid 50% less and 75% less at Eva's. A little bisque doll head she gave me at 50%. Years ago I took a furniture item I bought from Eva to the Antiques Roadshow. The Keno brothers assessed its value at just over what Eva priced it so she knows the true value of what she has and she isn't jacking up the price. Eva buys all over the country so she brings the best variety to her Hill Country shop but stays true to the tastes of customers shopping in the Texas Hill Country. If you find yourself on the road to this business, stop in and treat yourself to a unique shopping experience and cool stuff.

Lots of fabulous Warren cabinets with drawers and cases of varying sizes, of general store cabinetry fame. Deals with American antiques and you will find great Americana pieces. Make sure you check the patio and all 3 buildings. Hungry? go to the Bistro - both the food and service is amazing. We live in San Antonio, but consider the drive well worth it to find such wonderful pieces to check out and adopt!
