Every time I am in the office there is always a new charge for something. I recently learned that if enrolled in the Medicare Savings Program, premiums and a $286 deductible are covered, but I missed this information and have been paying co-pays. Dr. Malek's office, which employs offshore staff, lacks nurses and medical assistants, focusing instead on collecting payments. Medicare has been double-billed, and I was pressured to pay $25 to leave after questioning my bill. Dr. Malek called me, leaving a voicemail about a $25 monthly payment plan, and later dismissed me via Facebook Messenger, demanding $275 I don't owe. This platform is unsecured for health information, and his actions constitute patient abandonment. Dr. Malek has threatened legal action and verbally abused me over unpaid bills. I have evidence to support my claims and have reported the issue to Medicare, the Attorney General's office, and the licensing office. I've retained an attorney and plan to share evidence with them. Marla has a special way of not making you feel judged as you share your reason to be there. I have also found through experience that if you cannot truly be completely honest with your counselor no amount of counseling will help. With Marla I can be honest which can be hard when you have to share yourself not in the best light sometimes. I feel safe in opening up with Marla and know that she absolutely has my best interests at heart. You leave her office feeling cared for but also feeling accomplished that you are working on yourself & knocking out your problems. I have made great strides by having the help of Marla in my life. I feel very grateful to have found a counselor that comes across as a caring, empathetic & is also a very strong woman that is also gifted with a quick wit. Her sessions were full of her talking about herself, but more importantly... She billed insurance incorrectly (I had full coverage at the time), told me it was her fault and she'd fix it (it was her fault, she entered the wrong ID), then she canceled my appointments and I didn't hear from her again for three years. ...until I received a debt collection notice. She never called, emailed, or sent a letter/statement/bill. I've called insurance, confirmed I had coverage, confirmed that the EOB from Marla had the wrong ID, and insurance contacted the debt collection agency AND Marla. TWENTY DAYS LATER and I receive another debt collection notice. If you have any health issues, Marla will make them worse. She is simply untrustworthy. Don't waste your time with her; there are a lot of other wonderful mental health experts in the region.

I waited so long to write this. I don't know why. I went to this doctor around october or November…read moreof last year. I told them from the VERY SECOND I walked in that I was allergic to naloxone. I have been to the ER 3 times trying to figure out what was wrong. I went to a cardiologist and a vascular surgeon all trying to figure out what was wrong with me. It turned out I was allergic to naloxone. My heart rate goes nuts and I start to feel like I'm going to pass out. My blood pressure drops. And I get dizzy. I was scared to even drive thinking I was going to pass out. I literally thought I was going to die taking suboxone. They said "ohhh that's fine! We will prescribe you subutex" I had already been on it from my previous doctor in a different state. Anyways. They make you pay and then come once every week. I paid $225 ($175 at the downstairs clinic and $50 at their clinic, which they accepted) for that month. Well the third week I come in and they all the sudden decide they don't prescribe subutex anymore. I tried to tell them I CANNOT take suboxone. I gave them the info for all of my doctors. They refused to listen to me. I wasn't even allowed to see the doctor. They just brought out a prescription for suboxone and told me I had to take it, because as the lady at the front desk said "there's no such thing as an allergy to naloxone" I showed them all the proof online that there IS an allergy. Even when you get the meds it says in the pamphlet "if you have these symptoms (all the symptoms I had) tell your doctor. I never failed a drug test. There was absolutely no reason to do this. They told me I needed to go to an allergist and prove it. I told them I absolutely would. They still refused and tried to force me to take something that almost killed me. THEN they told me they would not refund the rest of my months money. They (the lady at the desk) said "just because you don't like what a doctor says doesn't mean you get your money back" so I find a new doctor. Even more stuff happened after this but this is already too long. I have never felt so humiliated in my ENTIRE life as I did when I went to this awful place. They screwed me over worse than anyone I've ever met. And they claimed it was the "laws" but I'm 100% positive if someone has an allergy they are allowed to have subutex. And thank GOD my new doctor knows this. This blatant ignorance is going to get someone killed. The next person might not refuse the prescription of suboxone, because they are so terrified of withdrawals. I refused. I will always refuse to take something that might kill me. I don't even know what steps I could take to fight something like this but it's not right. Do NOT GO HERE. They don't care about their patients AT ALL.

The doctor may visit you in the hospital and say things like, "she is the 1-1000 that this can happen to.". The doctor will cry in front of you and make you feel like they care. But in the end you are on your own! One year later we are still dealing with abdominal issues. My wife no longer has a belly button. Look in the mirror Lady's and imagine what you would look like with a huge scar instead of a belly button. Use your brains and not your emtions. These women do not care what harm they cause. I had some "fears" about one of the procedures, but she and her staff allayed all my fears with their informed answers. She even called me the day after the procedure to check on me personally. The office was very nice and homey. It made you feel very comfortable and not like you were in a rigid doctor's office. It was very clean. You could tell who ever designed it took a lot of care with the little details also. The staff was friendly and courteous. They were very efficient, but made you feel very comfortable. They answer any questions you have. I had a procedure that needed precertified and they let me know when they were having problems getting in touch with my insurance so I didn't worry when I didn't hear from them. They don't leave you hanging. I have already recommended this office and Dr. Juran to my family and friends and will continue to do so.
