This is a great post office, and usually (though not today) there isn't a long line. The service is good, and it is spacious enough. The only problem that bothers me is that they don't have any pens on the self-serve counter! read more

North Finchley is an okay post office that takes liberties about their closing times. I came once…read moreat a quarter to 5 recently, and they were supposed to close at 5 and they wouldn't let me in after I came out specifically to mail something. If you do actually get in, this is a decent post office and they also sell greeting cards. There are enough cashiers who will weigh your package and sell you the proper amount of stamps. Just don't come near closing time!
I really like this post office. Compared to many of the post offices I've been to in London it's…read morequite small and doesn't have a huge amount of stock. It does sell some envelopes and stationary but doesn't have nearly as much choice as many post offices do. The only reason I'm not giving this post office five stars is because of the lack of choice in stationary. The services they do offer are excellent. They are of course the same as other post offices but where you might have to queue for half an hour in other London post offices in this one you rarely queue for longer than five minutes. The staff are friendly and helpful and always willing to have a chat when it's not too busy. There is a seperate desk to buy lottery and stamps. I've always found the postman who collects the post at the end of the day to be really friendly and helpful too. He always accepts whatever post you give him with a smile and will wait for you if you're just getting a stamp to put on the letter.
I used to like this post office, they are nice and helpful, this was before. I noticed there is…read morethis Indian old woman, she was not nice and rude. When asking question about the weight of your parcel, it was in a not nice tone .and bad facial expression. This is what I have experienced with Indians same in Vivian avenue post office, not that I am being racist cos there is an Indian lady there that was very nice. in Golders Green post office, I like her. The one I came across the other day was rude and abrupt. I will skip her if I go there again.

When i came back there was a long queue but a cashier named KAM called me forward and was so patient and helpful. With staff all over would be as polite and helpful like her!!
It's not unusual that you need a post office that's open past business hours. It is unusual to find…read moreone! And this is the one, the only one true post office open late in London. Really, truly, open until 11pm 6 days a week (except the first Wednesday of the month, watch out for that). As someone who leaves things to the last minute and then needs a postmark for a particular date, the real-life, staffed post office counter inside Thornton's Budgens is a LIFESAVER. Please never change. Incidentally, Thornton's Budgens itself looks pretty nice, and hey, a place to buy groceries that's open late too!
On Saturday afternoon, I bought a car that had no road tax and thought I wouldn't be able to buy a…read moretax disc until Monday, as I couldn't find any post offices open on Saturday afternoons or Sundays. After spending some time searching the internet and discovering so many people asking if there are any post offices in London open over the weekends, I stumbled upon a business listing for Belsize Park Post Office, which amazingly listed very long opening hours, which I thought must have been a mistake, however, I phoned them up and they confirmed that they are indeed open every Saturday afternoon and Saturday evening, and they are also open every Sunday afternoon. Not only that, they are also open late in the evening every week night. So I made my way to Belsize Park and bought a tax disc for my car, which I was pretty chuffed about. This is only a small post office branch located inside a Budgens supermarket store so it's strange that it seems to be the only post office in London that has such long opening times. It's not exactly local to me but I will certainly go there again if I need to use a post office late in the evening or at the weekend. It's a shame more post offices aren't open later longer! Belsize Park Post Office opening times are... Monday-Saturday: 7am-11pm Sunday: 12pm-6pm They close at 6pm on the first Wednesday of every month. I hope this info helps other people looking for post offices in London that are open late at night and open weekends.
Had a click and collect purchase delivered here recently whilst I was away, because I'd had RM…read moredeliveries to my address stolen (blacked out photos of delivery proof to an address that doesn't exist, then neighbour bringing ripped up packaging dumped in her garden, manager of PO promised to call back but never did etc...). Went to collect, because it had been marked as delivered by the delivery company and scanned in by Post Office staff, so I had a code. Was told it was not there, and asked quite forcefully if I thought the customer service rep was a F-ing liar when I said it must have been delivered since they scanned it in. Far as I can tell, they stole this one too. Hampstead, London attracts criminals.

The store is small, but equipped to handle essential business including some banking. Money exchange (foreign currencies) and of course positing letters and parcels via royal mail. The shop probably needs a good refurbishment, but functions well enough.
