At the front of the shop it has varous foods you can buy: groceries, sweets, a small frozen food bit, tinned food, doughnuts, yougurts and lots more. I normally walk to the post office each week and buy my magazines and by the till they have small bags of penny sweets for 50p which I normally buy for my girls. Near the post office section there is an atm machine and a variety of stationary, birthday cards and a small selection of toys. The staff are all really friendly and often stop to chat to me. In the window of the shop they often have small notices from people that are selling things or have small jobs that they need doing so I always find mysef reading these.

A large part of the community is made up of farmers who already live a fair way out. There are also a few older people in the village and its somewhere we all use at times to sort out basic things and get our mail sent. They also have a little store so you get basics that you may need or stock up on the sweets. Its very much part of the community and you can meet some real characters. Shame its only currently open for 2 hours a day.

So I take all of my post to this charming little branch on Bute Street in Cardiff Bay, near Mermaid Quay. This post office has the friendliest and most helpful staff, and I often find myself spending a few extra minutes chatting to Nigel and his lovely team. It has a small-town feel to it, like a place I would've taken my post in the mid-1950s. Like most Royal Mail branches, it's best to avoid this post office between the hours of 11.30 and 1, as the lunch rush means the line nearly extends out the door. Just visit around 10 am or 3 pm and you'll often find nobody there. Another reason to stop by: the charming and sweet retro greeting card selection. Not retro-style, but actually from the 80s and 90s. I buy all of my cards here because they beat a Clintons creation any day of the week. You just have to see it. Trust me.

This is a decent size post office it doesn't sell anything else it just has the counters to pay…read moreyour bills at etc. Then around the side there are a couple tables you can lean on to fill in any forms that you need to. There is plenty of room to queue up at. I do find that sometimes the queues are really big especially at lunch time and I think that they could open up a few more of the counters when there busy. But other then that a great post office the staff are nice and friendly.
