I've been to this pub before a few times and it never fails to impress. It's not the prettiest pub,…read morethe interior is pretty old, the carpets have probably seen better days but you can't fault the service, food and value for money. The drinks selection is pretty good, but only two local ales. I wasn't here to drink so didn't check out the full selection. The menu is pretty extensive with about 4 pages of main courses, including about 8 different curries. The rest is typical pub food with a few Scottish themed dishes. I opted for sea food pasta which I've had before, it's £8.95 and more than worth it. Piled on top of spaghetti is a great selection of fish and shell fish. Giant prawns, big chunks of white fish, mussels, shrimps and calamari. It's all fresh, beautifully cooked and served in creamy white wine sauce. Others had burgers which were GIGANTIC, the kids meals were also all big and good quality. The chicken nuggets were real pieces of chicken. So it nearly gets top marks from me, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the food is great quality, reasonably priced and good portions. It's probably not somewhere I'd go to drink, but for lunch it's fantastic!

It has the feel of a real pub, not plastic, cosmtic nor overpriced. The staff were attentive, friendly and happy to oblige. The menu there is varied and well priced and the food freshly cooked. It comes out piping hot and is very tasty indeed. The only slight criticism is that the Guinness was slightly bitter as if the pipes could have done with a clean. Otherwise a great place for a drink and food.

The bartender almost sprained is ankle running out from behind the bar, ashunted us off into the back dining room which doesn't have the same appeal as the front room. (More like tacky 80s decor/horrible cooked-fish smell) We left. Bummer... Returned again in December 2019 and had a fantastic pub lunch. I was a little reticent to order the special " hairy biker" which was beef stroganoff, but ultimately couldn't resist and was able to just say "I'll have the beef stroganoff." Service was absolutely incredible, possibly the best in Dundee. The entrance room in the pub is adults only, and I was solo this time, without the wee bairn. They have a couple casks of real Ales which is always welcome.

I chose to have Beef Olives with chips and vegatables, and my Sister & Bro-in-law ordered Steak Pie, my Sister asked for a half portion which I think is a good idea for people with small appetites. My meal was tasty, except for the gluggy onion gravy, both my Sis & Bro-in-law said that the pastry was tasteless and under the pastry was meat and very runny gravy. This was definitely a frozen meal from Brake Brothers, why do these places keep trying to pretend that there food is homemade? My Sis and Bro-in-law both had puddings that were very genorous and they both enjoyed them. On top of the food we had to ask three time for a second drink and a pot of tea that I was having instead of a pudding. I do not think I will be back, well not for food anyway.
