We stayed at the Royal Pedregal in room 4118 for 7-day (Nov22-29, 2024). We stayed here because it…read morewas close to a relative's home. Our room had 2 queen beds and my wife and daughter slept on 1 bed and I slept in the bed closest to the entrance door. I experienced a total of 22 bed bugs bites all over my body. The bed bug bites were consistent over the days we stayed there. We asked to be moved to another room which they did (3117) however we probably brought over the bed bug because they continued to bite me. I spoke with the manager of hotel who only gave me a 1-day comp of room. I purchased cleaning solutions to wash all out clothing and to disinfect our new luggage when we returned to CA which cost $150. We took precaution and bombed our luggage and washed all our clothing, backpacks with hot water and special bed bug detergent. I asked that the general manager call me before I would write this review but after a week of waiting for their call I am posting to help others know to be careful staying at this hotel. The hotel refused to acknowledge this issue, they failed to provide me with adequate compensation for having to move from one room to another or for any monetary compensation for all the items I needed to purchase to make sure I did not bring back bed bugs to my home. The hotel is outdated, the carpet is dark and not clean, the rooms have outdated furniture, plugs which don't work and beds infested with bed bugs. I would never stay here again and would urge others not to stay as well. I give this hotel a 0 with terrible customer service.

I stayed here for 6 nights, and I must say ... I was skeptical considering the hotel's location…read more It's on the south end of Mexico City, about 12 miles from the city center where all the action is. So if you're coming as a tourist, this is probably not the place to stay. But if you don't mind paying for taxis, the hotel offers a luxury shuttle service for 300 pesos wherever you want to go in the DF, each way. In other words, if they drop you off around the city center 12 miles away and you want to be picked up and brought back to the hotel later, they'll come all the way to get you for 300 pesos. Pretty reasonable. I've gotten into Sitio cabs (the ones that don't kidnap you) for 600 pesos to go 3 miles depending on the time of day. Overall, my stay was positive. The rooms are huge, and clean. The breakfast buffet is outstanding, but not included. The weight equipment in the gym is a little dated, but the cardio equipment is fairly new, and the gym space itself is quite large. The wi-fi is free, and the pool area is relaxing, quiet, and well-maintained. So why only 3 stars? Besides the location, the only thing preventing me from giving 4 stars is the room service. Their menu is very friendly toward guests who can't handle the Mexican heat. Club sandwiches, Italian dishes, etc. But I can handle the heat and so I must have ordered the Aztec soup at least 5 times. It is out of this world good! So good, I attempted to get the recipe from the chef before I left, but failed. Que pena! The soup is quite filling, and I could make a meal out of that alone, but after 5 times I think I was ready for a change. On a separate night, I ordered the pasta carbonara. It came without bread so the waiter said he'd go get some and be back shortly. 15 minutes passed and still no bread. In the meantime, I immediately found my pasta to be cold and the bacon burnt. So I called to complain. They wanted to come get my cold dish and heat it up. Nice try. The bacon was burnt so I told them they'd have to re-do it anyway. 15 minutes later they brought me a new dish, which was hot this time, plus bread, plus parmesan cheese, both of which were missing from the first delivery. And this time around, I got attitude from the waiter, and no apology.

One of the biggest advantages of staying there is that the hotel is literally connected to Hospital Ángeles Pedregal through a first-floor indoor walkway. After having surgery, that direct connection made everything so much easier. I didn't have to worry about transportation, traffic, or being out on the street while recovering. It felt safe, seamless, and incredibly practical during a time when comfort and accessibility really matter. I only stayed for a few days, but the customer service stood out right away. The staff was very accommodating and allowed me to check in early, which helped a lot since I was coordinating around medical appointments. Everyone I interacted with was kind and professional. The hotel provides complimentary bottled water in the rooms, which I appreciated. The water quality was good, and having bottled water readily available made it easy to stay hydrated while recovering. In the mornings, they also offer complimentary coffee, tea, and fruit at the front desk -- a small touch, but thoughtful and helpful when you're not feeling up to going far for breakfast. There is a restaurant downstairs in the hotel. It was okay, but I found it overpriced for what it offered. The same goes for room service -- convenient, but definitely expensive. Honestly, I'd recommend walking over to the hospital instead, where there are several food options that are more affordable and offer more variety. Overall, staying at Camino Real Pedregal made my medical trip much smoother. The direct hospital connection and helpful staff were the highlights, and for anyone traveling to Mexico for procedures at Hospital Ángeles Pedregal, the convenience alone makes it a strong option.
