I can not say enough about Martha with Portraits by Martha. I originally met Martha having one of my dog's pictures taken at a dog training facility many years ago. After these pictures were taken I looked into having Martha take some other photos for me of some of my other animals and my young toddler daughter. Her patience with children and pets is remarkable! She became our family photographer for all of our events since then. The photos that she has been able to capture of my daughter growing up through the years are absolute treasurers. The detail that was shown with her first communion pictures are breathtaking, her dance photos, and just yearly photos are all done with such thought. Our animals are also considered to be our children and we have had her photograph all of them at different times of their lives. People are amazed at how great of professional portraits we have of our dogs and cats. Yes! I said Cats! We have had family portraits taken which were outstanding. I went from a person who didn't like to have my own picture taken to not being able to wait for Martha to take some portraits just of me! She truly makes everyone feel very comfortable and takes the time to get the exact correct photo! I can't even begin to express the thought process that she takes when it comes to special props! I give her an idea of what I am looking for and the finished picture turns out amazing! Our latest addition to our family is a tiny Yorkie who Martha has actually guided her with the photo shoots and turned her into a true Fashionista! From her puppy pictures to her 2nd Birthday Party Pictures they have all been taken with such thought and patience. Her 2nd Birthday Party was to be a Royal Princess Theme and let me tell you with all of Martha's patience, time, props, and ideas the portraits came out better than I could have ever imagined. I found Martha originally through her charity work. She often takes photos at events for animals in need. The first set she took was of my 3 pugs, and I was in love. How she got the attention of 3 badly behaved dogs, I'll never know. The next time I came across Martha, she was at another fund raiser. She took a photo of me and one of my pugs, and it was another beauty! I also really liked her - she was patient and funny and kind, so I began to follow her on Facebook. When the time came for my dads 80th birthday, I figured I would give her a shot - she was reasonably priced and I had liked her other pics so much. Well, I don't know if it's because my family is as close to a pack of wild dogs as you can get, but she nailed it!! The photos she took that day are ones I will cherish forever. At my next big life event (the birth of my son), we again brought Martha in for his one month photos. She truly captured his character and our love for him, while making me look like I hadn't just given birth!! I wanted a picture of my dog for my daughter's Valentines day birthday. Martha was set up at a local pet store and the entire experience was disappointing. Her website didn't list specific prices for pet store sites but I was informed it was a $30 sitting fee and free 8x10 with purchase. After the shoot I found out the sitting fee wasn't a purchase and the cheapest option was another $30 for one picture. I wouldn't have wasted my time and money if I had known that. Now I have to tell my daughter that I spent part of her birthday money on a photo shoot with nothing to show. I never received email access to see the pictures, but it doesn't matter because I can't afford to waste more money. The setting was also disappointing - plain white sheet background like a mug shot (invest $5 for a piece of heart print fabric), a few Valentines props, and bad lighting. The one positive was that they were gentle with my dog. I'm sure the outdoor/bridal experience is different, but I wouldn't recommend this if you're expecting an inexpensive pet store photo. read more

Martha is kind and compassionate with all animals and people. Photo sessions are fun, props are great and the backgrounds are gorgeous! We have a very problematic dog who, we rescued as "feral." Martha somehow is able to get beautiful shots of him, not only by himself, but with our other three dogs and two cats! Simply amazing. She also takes the time to make your pets feel at ease. I only wish I had known her when I got married, I know my photos would have been much better had she taken them. My home is FILLED with photos from Portraits by Martha and we wouldn't have it any other way!! read more

Martha really takes her time with you and your pets. She tries all sorts of tricks to get your pup to look at her and then she has this innate ability to capture a great expression. She's photographed my eldest dog for me, and also my sister's senior dog, and we were both very pleased with the results. The price was great and we received our prints and tree ornament on time. Martha's also super kind and she gives back to local rescue organizations through doing photo sessions as fundraisers. read more

I wish there were more than 5 stars for this company. Martha is not only a top notch photographer, but she has compassion and love for animals and those who work to save them. She donates her best work to animal rescue, and she is not content until she captures the essence of every pet she photographs. No one does more for the animal community of NE Ohio than Martha. Martha is an amazing photographer who captures the true personality of your pet. I have had portraits of all my dogs done by her, and each has been phenomenal. One of my dogs has reactivity issues- and he is laying calmly and contentedly on the floor in the Santa photo of my 5 dogs all together which is on this site to the upper left! Martha did portraits of my dogs. I don't know how she managed to get some great shots with them all sitting and looking at the camera, but she did! She's very patient with pets (and their people!) and very efficient. She had some really nice backgrounds and cute props too. Definitely a good experience, would recommend. She also sometimes donates her time and a portion of her fees to local animal rescues so she's the perfect choice for animal lovers. read more

We just had our family photos done by Martha and she was so patient with my entire family. (30+ people) you know we needed sibling pics, grand kid pics, couple pics, individual family pics, cousin pics, dog pics, entire group shots and more!
