My initial Google search provided me studio photography options that just weren't my style. What happened next was fate. I did an image search, and came across a vibrant photo taken at American Tobacco Campus. Who was behind the camera for THAT? Turns out it was Ms. Carolyn Scott! I looked at her website and fell in love with her portfolio. My benchmark for photographers are children's photos - if you can photograph children, you can photograph anything. Her family photography looks so natural and captures each member perfectly. Sold. Contacting her was easy, and chatting with her was like catching up with an old friend. I decided to do a full branding session because I wanted to be photographed in 2 different outfits - one for my professional branding, the other to celebrate my 34th birthday. The session itself was so much fun. It's natural to feel a bit nervous at first, but she's very good at helping you relax and feel your best. I use my photographs for everything from LinkedIn and Zoom profile pics to social media and my blog. Highly recommend.

I would not recommend…read morethis for any young children/big families due to the short 15 minute session length where it is very hard for any child to warm up and give a good photo. Be prepared to stay for an extended period after the session where they edit the photos in front of you, you sort and pick sizes and package etc. It is not enough time to make an educated decision. The session fee was $15 so not bad but we only got 5 good pics. There was no offer to get these 5 digitally at a fair price. The biggest critique is that the prices and sales were not listed anywhere near checkout, the sweet photographer hand wrote the prices for me. They only had a sheet with $400+ "specials"listed but it did not show every option or sale prices. It's designed to be confusing. The way they rush you to make a decision and don't let you see the packages is how you know it's a trap. Especially when you likely aren't getting great bang for buck depending on the type of session. The majority of the photos in my package were so blurry they are useless. I wouldn't be so upset if they hadn't cost so much and there wasn't a rush to buy a package. For JCP to be considered a budget option is not accurate

Terrible experience. I had an appointment on April 27th at 5 PM to celebrate my 50th birthday. I…read morearrived on time, dressed up and very excited, but I left feeling sad, disappointed, and discriminated against. ​As a Hispanic woman, I felt treated differently. The photographer, Kayla, only took about 9 pictures in 15 minutes. She gave me zero guidance or posing ideas, even though I told her I was nervous. After my session, a Black family came in, and both Kayla and the other employee (a short Black girl) were incredibly nice to them. I timed it: they spent 55 minutes with them, giving them tons of ideas and different poses. ​When Kayla realized my balloon photos were wrong and called me back, I hoped for a better experience. I even showed her a pose I found online and asked both girls for more ideas, and they literally told me: "That's the only one we know, we don't know any more poses." It was heartbreaking to see the effort and time they gave to others while rushing me out. I felt completely discriminated against and ignored on a day that was supposed to be special. I will never go back.

The major problem was that when we did get to the back to take the photos, the first thing she said was "we have to hurry. We have 15minutes because I have other families I have to do." I smiled because I knew from getting photos done elsewhere in the previous years that there was no way to take photos for a family of 8 in 15minutes and get great photos. And I was correct, she rushed us through, got finished in 30min and my photos showed it. The guy doing the review of the photos rushed us thru as well. Did not get a good view of the photos but the guy was persistent on the cost being over $250. I was really disappointed but tried to make the most out of it. Finally found coupons that got my price down to $160ish. Really could have taken better photos from my phone. And to put the icing on the cake, they cannot print the photos. They tell you anywhere for 3 -48hrs, you will receive an email with your photos. And I did receive them in 24hrs and wanted to cry. Did some of my own cropping and editing and out of the 6 full family photos taken, only 2 were frame worthy. SMH!! Before booking with them, please consider a professional photographer or just a tripod for your phone!

She also allowed our session to go longer than we booked so that I could breastfeed when the baby needed breaks. Also she edited every single photo for those little baby acne bumps or cradle cap.
