Eating out at McChristies Well as part of the Portland Arms is an absolute pleasure.Table booked for 7 o'clock( booking is advisable as its ALWAYS busy),we were seated for 6.55, as table was already prepared.Drinks order first, quickly followed by menus brought to the table by one of the smartly attired waitresses.
With starters and main courses ordered time for a short chat and before long the starters were on the table.I can thoroughly recommend the melon slices with raspberry compote and lemon sorbet.
Main courses next and no negatives there either, myself i had the macaroni cheese with smoked bacon, chips and a beautifully arranged, dressed side salad.Others had 8oz sirloin steak, scampi and lambs liver.
Desserts to finish off with the Million calorie ladened Tablet sundae with butterscotch sauce-sooo sweet but totally worth it.
Drinks included, the bill for four came to £76 so all in all a result all round. read more
