Once you sign up, you then download the SpeedyDock app and schedule your first boat launch. You have a choice of in the water, work rack, or trailer. If you choose water, then order drinks, ice, bait, fuel and your boat will be ready when you arrive. Upon return, they will wash the exterior and flush motor and store it. The facilities appear to all be new. They have electricity, and water for boats. They have boats that stay there and accept transient vessels. They have bathrooms, with showers on site. They sell fuel, diesel and gas, and ice. They just finished their breakwater wall. You pull into the bay off The Gulf, through the railroad swing bridge, then head to port. You'll want to call ahead to get a slip assignment. The docks are also well lit, but not overly bright at night. The town is just up the walkway over the sea wall, and is super cute. We spent a great Easter weekend here and would definitely be back if in the area. The boats were still a bit wobbly, possibly from the wind, so if you can get a full slip where you can tie up on both sides that'd probably be more comfortable.

The parking is always open and usually isn't crowded with people. The also have a store on site where you can buy poles, baits, line and hooks. The also sell fishing license as well. Across from the pier is a huge kids park with a playground which offers slides and a swing set. Aside from the park they also have a splash pad that is open to beat that MS heat! Overall nice little spot where you can get out of the house and go fishing and just relax and enjoy life and take the kids out to play.

I found the best time of my life when my nephew treated me to a trip to a place called Hopedale Marina. Could not sleep after the trip, pondering on how great the people were and the fishing was unbelievable. Caught more fish in four hours than caught in 45 years on the pacific out west. What a great place to be. Just wish there were camping spot to enjoy. Rv,camper, tent etc .would be nice.

Booked a dolphin cruise while in Dauphin Island. Waited to the last minute so dates and times were…read morelimited. I specifically wanted to book on The Duke due to past experiences. The Duke is a large boat and kids do not have to wear life jackets. The boat has plenty of adult and kid life jackets. There is plenty of seating area and the seating area is covered. There is a bathroom on the boat. The staff is very nice. All of the kids got a chance to drive the boat. Unfortunately, we didn't not see any dolphins on this trip. This was not the case on past visits. What sets this boat apart is they drag nets and bring marine life onto the boat. The kids get to learn about the fish, crabs, shrimp and what ever else is grout up. The staff removes anything that can harm them and then the kids get to throw the fish back into the water. Birds and other marine life may or may not eat what is thrown back. I will continue to do dolphin tours with The Duke. Next time I'll probably do a fishing trip.

Good people and plenty of places to eat around the vacation destination island. Worth noting is an Ace hardware only a few miles north. The view here is pretty terrific.
