Quality/Quantity - We have been visiting all the ports in all the cities in France. They are all nice, pun intended. But seriously, after a while, it was fairly all the same. Beautiful views. Good eating and drinking options. Great places for walks. And of course boating, touring, fishing, etc. No public restrooms, lol. Well at least none that are free, lol. Ambiance - See above. Service - Depends on what you do, eat, or drink. Price - Tourist prices. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success. read more

If you're in Nice, the port is a must-see. It's the main port in Nice, and it is littered with two types of boats: small, colorful sailboats; and megayachts. It is incredibly picturesque, and there is a stunning view of the port from up on Castle Hill. It is worth walking down to the port as well, because it's such a cool harbor. I recommend doing it the same day you see Castle Hill, because it is right down the road. If you really want a treat, walk an extra half mile past the port and dine at Le Plongeoir. Even drinks there would suffice, given the incredible view. If you do dine there, make a reservation early: they book up months in advance. Whatever your proclivities, however, you should definitely take a stroll around the port! Happily, Clayton Cohn read more

The port of Nice is not too far away from the old town of the city. Nice has more than 400 000 years of history and its port is one of the most magnificent places I have ever seen before. It connects mainland with the biggest islands in the Mediterranean sea. I saw ferries going to Corsica and Sardinia on the day of my visit. There is a promenade allowing for a half an hour walk into the sea. The end of the walk is a small lighthouse, a picture of which I have uploaded. To my surprise there were people strolling carelessly like me there, even though for some a port would not be the most appealing place to hang out even on a weekend day. read more
