TLDR: You are required to set up appointments for all visits now…read more After attempting to apply online (which didn't work) I happened to be in the area for the DMV so I figured I'd walk over as it's not stated anywhere online that you must have an appointment. When you get there the loud speaker announcement states they have appointments available within 5 days. I almost laughed because it's wildly inaccurate. I'd booked an appointment a few days before for the first one available - almost 3 weeks out. Even if you go by business days, it's not close to being accurate. Currently they'll let you sign in, get a number, wait for 30 minutes, then call your number, and at your window you'll be told to make an appointment and they'll refuse to help you further. It's absolutely bonkers and I've never seen anything like it. After I was told I could wait an additional 3-4 hours for the possibility of speaking with someone, I asked if like the DMV they could text me when someone can speak with me. No. No, they don't do that either. I left. I will say I ended up googling and found a great thread that talked about the different processes people have used to get into their non-working SSA accounts. I tried a few of them and was finally able to log in via IDme on an incognito window so I could download a statement of my account, which solved about half of what I needed. Overall, it was a pretty awful and extremely inefficient experience all around. Definitely would not recommend.

You guys waste peoples time. When I asked for proof of my appointment to show my job you guys blacked out my SSN for what? Come today and the Asian lady tells me at window 8 I can't take your documents sat there for how long looking at the computer and when I handed her my stuff and my OLD social security from when I was married say I can't take none of these. I need your resident card. I told her I told them it was stolen when I made the appointment I am in the process of getting my citizenship I was just told since my father was a US Citizen and served in the navy I havr to file for my citizenship. In the process of this now then the lady was like I don't know if you're going to be approved. I was llike excuse me? She said oh I'm sorry I just need the card. They should of said that to me so I could pull it up online with the number and whatever expiration date she said she needed. You had me come here to waste my time and be rude about it. I've should of known better to come here because when my mother passed away I came here to give her death certificate and the Hispanic man who called my number told me I don't need to take that from you the mortorary will send all of that to us. Okay I was there with it reporting her death. Just a waste of time here

they canceled my medicaid despite my clearly still qualifying. i tried to reason with them and…read morepoint out the many reasons (rules and regulations) why I still qualified over many conversations with multiple employees including 'supervisors', but they refused to listen and literally just said if i didn't like it, i could request a hearing. well i did, and the judge immediately sided with me and pointed out to them that their 'evidence' that they used to try and defend their canceling my insurance actually proved exactly why it should not have been cancelled in the first place. great job guys. Edit: Now they've retaliated by closing my benefitscal account, cancelling my ebt card, and took a long time to process a change that would result in higher benefits. And although I know it's in my file that I use TTY, workers keep spam calling me via voice call, even in response to emails I've sent specifically asking them to use TTY compatible device/service, like it really seems like some sick joke! and I complained about this to the "ADA Facilities and Public Access Coordinator" and all she said was "I am not clear exactly what the problem is at this point" and "I am not clear exactly what this issue is." The *ADA Facilities and Public Access Coordinator* is not clear what the problem is when it's in my records that I use TTY and workers keep calling me via voice, even though they know I use TTY (as they are also responding to emails specifically noting this)?? THEN GET ANOTHER JOB! I'm "not clear" how ANYONE could not understand what the problem is when county workers insist on calling via voice to someone who's noted to use TTY, let alone an ADA officer!

They are amazing here! So sweet in person and over the phone. They make it quick and easy, but also…read morekeeping a smile on their face and a positive great attitude all around. The entire process has been great! Thank you and keep up the great work.

This is a review for the Richmond, CA Social Security Office. I have been there twice, and both…read morevisits were A+ experiences. Here are some tips for success: 1- Call the SSA's 800 # to make an appointment for this office. At the same time ask the person what you should prepare to bring with you (forms, id, other members of the family, etc etc); 2- Arrive for your appt 10 min early so you have time to get through the security check (similar to TSA at airport). There is plenty of FREE Parking there! 3- Be kind to the security check people -- they're just doing their job. 4- Have everything in hand for your appt, so when you're called to go to a Window, you're ready. They will first ask for your ID. 5- Both times I visited this office, the window agents were first rate. They answered all my questions and gave me tips on how to proceed afterwards. I really appreciate the competence + excellence of all the people I've interacted with here.

It does not state on website that they will only see you to show documents with an appointment. Wasted my time going in only to be told I needed an appointment. Spoke to speak to the manager Karina V and she never came out. Left after waiting for 20 min. They were looking at me through their window but didn't come out. I wanted to show them what the website stated as to prevent further issues with other people. It's unfair to the people that come in following directions that their website provides.
