I've ridden by this place many time on the bus, and have always been intrigued by their 109 sek filet mignon sign on their gate. An $11 filet mignon?? I need to try this. So one day I finally caved.
I came here for an early dinner with my boyfriend. We asked about the filet, the waiter told us that it was quite popular, so we both ordered it. He thanked us and walked away. I was a little stumped because I had expected him to ask us how we wanted them cooked. Was this really the kind of place that would make all their steaks well-done? I called the waiter back over to ask why he hadn't asked how we want our steaks cooked, and he told us that "they're pork, "they're thin" so "we bread them" and "they're always" well-done. What?...
I was more than a little taken aback. I had wanted a normal steak. Something I could order at an Outback Steakhouse. Maybe it was my fault for not asking, but I felt more than a little let down, after getting so excited from their sign out front. Seems to me like false advertising (but correct me if I'm wrong. I'm not a steak expert).
Anyways, I quickly ordered a sirloin instead (which cost me almost another 100 sek more than the filet). My boyfriend stuck with the filet (which he had ordered "not breaded", as you'll see in the photos). I was pleasantly surprised with the steak. I had ordered it rare to medium rare, and while it came out closer to medium, it was still quite good. Great seasoning on the steak. The steamed vegetables that came with it were pretty disgusting, but I hate vegetables so maybe it's just me. The potatoes were very good, and came with a sauce called béarnaise (like bear + mayonnaise maybe? lol).
Overall, with drinks, our meal came to about 450 sek. A little much for the small portions we got. I would definitely not come back here again, except maybe for their after work: all-you-can-eat happy hour (4:00-7:00pm) where they give you unlimited french fries, sausage and meatballs for like $4. But yeah.. this place is pretty meh. read more
