I had SO much fun at Porchfest!! What a great community event! I took an uber because I wasn't sure about parking, and they had a rideshare drop off zone. Super easy. I got a map and scoped out which bands were playing throughout the day. I got a Manifest vodka spritz to start ($8) and headed over to the first porch to watch a jazzy singer. She was awesome. Every block I turned down had more live music, vendors, food trucks, and bars! It was much bigger than expected. I also tried a goat cheese empanada from 1748 Bakehouse. We enjoyed watching the drag queens from Tulua Bistro perform too. Then one stage over was blues. Literally every type of music! I'm not sure how the bathroom situation was because I avoided using a portapotty, but they were available. The festival felt very safe and there were no issues that I saw. Everyone was just enjoying the music and community. Great day! I will definitely go back next year.

No pictures once I volunteered to break down the set up and remove signs to bring the Springfield area back to normal. If you are not a resident of Springfield good luck finding parking or even getting into the event. My wife and I came early. She is disabled and would have not made the journey through the 2 mile venue. We tried. I overheard the event was well attending hopefully next year:(

Love this annual festival. We enjoy walking the neighborhood for the houses. Great crowd and good music. Tons of food trucks and good locally owned restaurants. Such beautiful weather this year. Stopped in to Crispy's for lunch - the Laura was amazing. Music from a range of genres. Something for everyone. This year it was east of main st and there were plenty of close in parking spots.

Even pets had their own food trucks :)

So much fun!!! Got there about 6 and it was packed! Everyone just letting loose dancing, chatting away relaxing on their blankets or towels. Even the dogs were having a blast! Everyone was chill. Food trucks and beer everywhere, though I don't drink there was plentiful and great food trucks too! Location- Springfield park in Jacksonville near downtown area. Group of bands gathered together at a local downtown area playing their heart out. It reminded me of a family friendly mini Woodstock. Everyone getting together having a blast. Entrance was free so all purchases or food and drink went to the UF health association. The bands were amazing! One that I loved was Big Sam and the funk nation. It was a mix of blues, jazz, funk and some New Orleans bayou spark. Not one person I saw was still. Everyone was getting down. Totally lit! Great event for a great cause!

I'm glad Debbie F. took the initiative to review one of Jacksonville's premier festivals, Porchfest! This year's festival was a load of fun, easy to navigate, and encompassed a sense of community spirit. Have you been to Springfield recently? Because it's alive and well and prepared to take Jax by storm! I mean, the turnout alone was stellar. The streets were closed down, front porches of historical homes were filled with live bands and musicians, and Klutho Park was popping! Tons of local food trucks and local breweries were on hand to serve the masses. From the few bands I heard, they sounded fantastic. Straight up, it was a community event to remember, and I'm stoked to see what's to come from the Springfield pioneers.

Free event with live music, picnicing space and fun for the kiddos. Bring a blanket and your dog for a fun evening in the outdoors. There are food trucks with long lines, but the aroma of hot food will likely lure you in. There is a beer tent with some great local breweries repping. I've gone this year and last. Such a great way to welcome fall weather.

This is the up and coming festival of JAX. Everyone wants to live in Springfield now. Talk about a community! People have come in bought old homes and renovated them and the whole neighborhood is changing. Porchfest opens up the streets to music, food and fellowship in a family scenario. Bands set up on different porches and play as you sit in the street with your lounge chair or attend the private parties in the parking area. Its relaxing and all you need is a glass of wine to fit in. Along side Klutho park you'll find food trucks and sales vendors with the grand stage for performers as you gather together for the evening. Their is a beer garden so grab one and have a seat for some great tunes. Plan for next year to spend the day..you wont regret it!

For every time I've heard someone say - we don't have that in Jacksonville, I've answered, well we Have Porchfest - and it's worth checking out! My first Porchfest was in 2014 and I was amazed. I've been to "festivals" and most are pretty much cookie-cutter copies of what someone else did somewhere else. Just substitute whatever fruit you just harvested (blueberry, watermelon, etc) or whatever holiday you're about to celebrate - add funnel cakes, face paintings, and never-ending pony rides to nowhere and you've got a Festival. Porchfest is very original. Homeowners, part of SPAR (Springfield Preservation and Revitalization), offer their porches for local performers to showcase their talents. A wide variety of musical genres will be on display over a 9 hour period - spread throughout the neighborhood - both sides of Main Street. Wander to all or bring a chair and find the location that suits you best. Porchfest 2017 added some elements that made it a little user-friendly: maps detailing times & locations of the performers and each location also had a small sign giving the name of the band and when they would be performing - nice touches! Great line-up this year - new bands and favorites from years past. The headliners, Big Sandy & the Fly-Rite Boys, brought some great rockabilly to end the night! There was a food truck area, beer garden and Main Stage at Klutho Park.

Had a great time yesterday at PORCHFEST 2018. Springfield is beautiful and the day was gorgeous. Got to spend the whole day with both my kids and wife in a great, family friendly setting. Kids ate and said the food was really good. The beer was very good. All the bands were tight and eclectic. The homes in various stages of renovations were all beautiful. This was my first time but can't wait until next year to enjoy this event in one of the most historically rich parts of our city. Well done!!

This was my first time to Porchfest! We met up with some fellow Yelpers for this joyous occasion. I enjoyed myself, I always like getting out in the community and trying new things and meeting new people! Seen a few people that's on the voting ballot this year out soliciting for votes. Lots of people selling different items from pictures, jewelry, food and handmade items. Lots of people chilling on the grass with their blankets, beverages and food while watching other people and the live bands performing. This was a family event where everyone was invite and oh boy was it packed. They even had an area with games designated for children and an area designated for dogs. Food trucks galore surrounded the area and some even sold out early and were closed (Son Of A Butcher) . It's that good! The Beer Garden was cool but you had to purchase tickets (no cash) so it's like one ticket equal one drink. 1 ticket for $6 or 4 tickets for $20. I'm not a big beer drink so I had wine, they were out of Chardonnay so I got the Cabernet Sauvignon, hell that's all they had left. Next year I would hope they would at least have 4 wines to choose from. Ok, I'm wishing. Nevertheless, lines moved quickly as you gave a ticket in exchange for a big plastic cup of wine or beer. Yes , they did check ID and passed out wristbands. The bands were good seem a little bit of Mama Blue performance. Oh yeah parking.. it can suck all I can say is keep riding around and good luck or get there really early, how early? Setup tents early! Lol! The big historic homes with the super duper larger than life porches were cool, yes I would like to kick it on one of them sitting in a rocking chair sipping on a adult beverage while talking smack and people watching! I'll be back to Porchfest next year!

This was my second year coming. Fellow Yelper, John introduced me to the Porch Fest to Autumn and I last year. Dee and I met here this year. We came early(11:15am)and stayed until about 5ish. Last year it was so hot(85-87)! This year, the weather was so much cooler and more comfortable. Dee and I ate at some "Kabob" food truck and we bought tickets for the beer garden. Dee had some delightful beer and I had a cup of wine. We have our two remaining tickets to a guy. We saw a lot of wonderful bands, but my favorite was Chris Thomas Band. He is such a great performer and his band played so beautifully and perfect. We went to the porch he was to play at early to get a front row seat. Wow! Dee said to me, "I now know why you wanted to see this band"! The event was very well organized. Loads of people, friends, families, and doggies. I did notice a few Security Officers, but was surprised that there were not that many JSO Officers anywhere, but the entrance. I can't wait until next year. Thanks so much Springfield and residents for sharing your cool and beautiful porches for bands to play.

Wish I could double the stars to ten. Had a phenomenal time. This was the inaugural event for this transitional neighborhood. Springfield is literally a diamond in the rough and on this day, it sparkled even though it was overcast. Kudos to the organizers, the musicians and to all the people who wandered the streets in search of minstrels and their magic. Bravo to the people who hosted the musicians on their porches. Can't wait for Porchfest Part deux.

This was a huge amount of fun! Think of the jazz fest, but with different kinds of music, Mad Cowford improv, and a bunch of great people. On porches, in a beautiful and historic neighborhood. Oh, and food trucks galore. I'm definitely coming back next year--just make sure you arrive early do you're not parking a long ways away like I had to today!

And on top of that, they added Daily's Place too!! Seats, covered seats - away from the heat & elements! And lots & lots of parking ($15) at the stadium. Also - thank you for the variety of food trucks and having the buses available for Cooling Stations. We've been attending the Jax Jazz Fest for more than 15 years. We come down from Atlanta and…read morepurchase the "VIP Experience" every year. We just got back from the 2025 fest, and it was the most disappointing of all. Background: The Jax Jazz Fest (JJF) used to be a wonderful experience. Not anymore. They used to provide 3-5 different stages with all types of jazz, smooth, Latin, Cool, Swing...you name it. It used to start around 11 am and go into the night. No more. It's down to one stage with R&B and HipHop artists and some Jazz sprinkled in. It's no longer a Jazz Festival. Gates open around 5 pm most days, so it's less than half the musical choices it used to be. It gets worse. The VIP thing is a joke, an expensive joke. We paid $ 1,200 for the two of us for the 4-day event. It's actually 3 days since the first day is only one performance, usually a little-known act. We parked a half mile from the venue in the VIP lot...and walked in the blistering Florida heat. Through sandy, gritty former parking lots and abandoned former industrial sites. We were filthy from the waist down by the time we finished our hike to the gate. There is only one gate, leaving you with yet another 200-yard walk through the crowd to the undersized VIP tent, which, of course, was full, with nowhere to sit, since it was undersized for the VIP crowd size. Drinks. We paid $60 with a couple of dollar tip for two "signature drinks" that were unidentifiable. Twenty-six bucks each plus tax. You read that right. Watered down and loaded with ice, they were terrible. They stopped providing drinks as part of the admission a few years ago, but the price remained unchanged. A total money grab from the event organizers. The food is unlimited, but doesn't change all day...so how many times are you going back for the same piece of chicken you ate a few hours ago? You'll eat once, pick a little the second go round, and you're done. You'd think they would bring out different choices, some fruit, sliders, wings, maybe some pasta as the day wears on, but no. Same food all day long. So, unlimited food is limited by the poor selection that remains unchanged. Kool and the Gang and Maysa saved the weekend, as did Trombone Shorty. Also, we long ago started staying at the beach in case the JJF disappoints, which is has begun to do more often, so coming from Atlanta, we at least have some beach time. Sunday was rained out for the most part, as was Saturday last year. Do you think they would provide us with a credit for next year's "VIP Experience" since we spent over $300 on the tickets for that day? Nope, tough luck. We're done. No more VIP, since there's nothing VIP about it. Oh, and to be clear, you have to buy the VIP before they announce who is playing, or you pay more for waiting. It's sad what this has become, as we had many happy times in the past.

First- it is chaos, they estimated this year to have 150k visitors for the festival- that's right one hundred, fifty THOUSAND people descending on this little coastal town. They had so many vendors, mostly arts and plenty of food and drinks, not to mention all the great businesses in historic downtown! I went with my mom, we arrived around 10am and it took 30 minutes to find parking. Plenty of local business offered parking for a fee- but it was $10 (a church), $20- most perimeter businesses) & $30 for prime parking right off the main drag. Somehow my refusal to park in a paid lot worked out and we found a vacant street parking spot a few blocks away. AKA- be prepared to walk a lot and also prepared to pay for parking. The the festival- the entire main drag is shut down and every side street for a block both north and south filled to the brim with arts, antiques, garden art and more! They have two festival booths for shopping tshirts and other shrimp inspired merch. Mom ended up buying a pink shrimp festival t-shirt. I LOVED all the various art! Metal, glass, photography, painting, pottery, jewelry- you name it! Mom scored various items from $3 to $50 and I bought copper jewelry from 2 different artists. One from Key Largo- Metal and Fire Designs, I found a gorgeous torch patina cuff bracelet and big, gorgeous earrings. Another woman who lives in Clearwater (originally from Maui) does enamel coated metal jewelry- Uli Kai Designs- she was marvelous! I had a difficult time picking out one pair and ended up buying two! Crabby Patty Pottery was there too, a Fernandina local Potter & so many more. People come from all over too- Georgia, the Carolina's, all over Florida- it's really incredible. Years ago I went to a food festival in Jax and was very disappointed, this event was insanely better and I am adding this to my calendar for next year! Now that I have been, I will be more prepared! Oh & the food!!! Most of the food was on the waterfront, at the end of the main drag- plenty of food tents set up and mom and I had garlic parmesan shrimp from the Shrimp Pie boat. Long line, but moved quickly! I am grateful it was overcast most of the day- it was warm, but tolerable. A Gorgeous day for a festival! I'll have to check the brochure to see if they said how many vendors were there, because it was crazy! Highly recommend, wear comfy shoes, bring a hat, sunscreen and a bag for purchases!

I could probably beat them but I wasn't going to let them take my money for a huge stuffed animal that I really didn't need. What we REALLY came here for was the food. My coworker told us, even drew up a map, about where the best vendors were and we made sure that we hit all of the spots. He said he gets the Pickle Ranch Pizza every single year from the specific vendor over by the foodie garden and loves it so much. Sounds odd, but when I tried it I actually liked it. There was another vendor around and down the corner that also had it but for $2 more. He also let me know about the Sweet Tea and/or Lemonade vendor that adds Tajin so I had to get one of those. Didn't realize that it was a frozen drink which made it even better. The "itinerary" also included the candied nuts from The Almond Tree, Amish Donuts from the famous Peachey's Baking Company ( which had a long line so you know they're good), and Tacos from La Taqueria. All fire. Off "itinerary" were the Lobster Roll (good but pricey), the Deep Fried Cheesecake (meh), the Hot Sauces from the Angry Goat Pepper Company (the Serrano, Cilantro, and Chive sauce is now my #1 favorite sauce), the Lemon Lavender Marinade from Barbara's Kitchen Jams (guy was so nice and I'mma sucker for Lavender. gave us some good recipes as well).
