Fernie the sales manager is a good salesman in trying to convince you in selecting a mattress. When it comes to delivery of mattress is another thing. They put down within a month you will receive all merchandise and when a mobth comes they come out with many excuses that not everything came in. So it basically took almost to months to receive everything. The service really sucks. I do not recommend customers to shop here. read more

Warning to all looking to buy a mattress here. Take time to read all the 1 and 2 star reviews. Wish I could leave 0 stars. My advice to you is go buy somewhere else. Buying a mattress is a big investment. You should invest your time and money somewhere else that truly cares about getting you into the right mattress. I will not be buying from Popular Mattress ever again. I will tell all my friends and family to stay away from this place. If you are curious to know why I feel this way, read below. We bought our mattress during the Home and Garden show in 2023. The salesman, Fernie, was great initially, told us about promotions where we got free pillows and free upgrade to the base. Fernie promised that he would help find the right mattress for us. Anyone who has shopped for a mattress knows that it takes a while before you know if you bought the right mattress or not. (FYI- Don't believe the salesman if he says that they will help you with trying matresses until you find the right one.) We opted for the split king Temperpedic because my wife and I like different firmnesses. My wife and I were excited about our new purchase and couldn't wait to get better sleep. Our bed arrived in late March. We slept on our new beds from April until September. We gave them an honest try before we contacted Fernie to help us. In May 23, we wanted to return the mattress for a refund, so we contacted Fernie about returning the Mattress . Fernie had an emergency and didnt get back to us. When he finally did get back to us, he told us that a return was not possible but that he could help with an exchange. We instantly had buyer's remorse. I told him him that we would not have bought the bed if we couldn't return it. We were upset. It took us a while to cool off. We felt like we made a mistake buying from this place. We recalled Fernie had said that he would help us find the right mattress in our initial meeting at the HG show so we gave the exchange a shot. So we went into the store, and Fernie helped us with an exchange. The new bed arrived a few weeks later. We slept on this mattress from September '23 to March '24. My wife and I were not getting restful sleep. We spent some time out of town during the fall and holidays. Then my wife had knee replacement surgery in January. If I knew what I know now, I would have contacted Fernie sooner than I did, but I put my wife's recovery ahead of everything. I figured with her limited mobility, it would be better to wait until she's stronger and fully recovered before we go moving furniture around in the bedroom. We would deal with the matress until then. Again, we were not getting restful sleep at night, and it was impacting my wife's recovery. I texted Fernie about our discomfort with the bed in early April. Fernie wasn't as responsive as he was when he was trying to make the initial sale. When he did respond, he said that he would need to get with the owner about another exchange, and he threw in that it had been a year since our purchase and that the comfort trial is only for 1 year. I contacted him a week into April; we got our bed initially in late March; and the exchanged mattress in September. Shouldn't the comfort trial end in September for the current mattress? I didn't understand this as it was only a week into April. Anyway, I followed up with him multiple times, and he gave me the runaround about how he hadn't had a chance to talk to the owner but that he would let us know what they can do and that he would contact us as soon as he had an answer. So, we waited. Again, there is no answer, and I follow up again. I got the sense that he no longer cared to help us. He kept telling me a year had passed. Late March to early April is a few days into a year. I followed up again today and Fernie suggested that we go to the store; that his boss had given him approval to give us "special pricing" on a new purchase. A new purchase, not an exchange. No thanks. We do not want the same shopping experience and hear empty promises and lies again. We will go elsewhere. read more

Dear Ferni and Angie: I have never met two people who have been less helpful. Angie mocked me and she is condescending without any regard to be helpful. Fernando has great mattress knowledge. But as soon as he makes the sale, he will not deliver on majority of his promises. He promises a lot when he sells a mattress but ultimately they are lies. To summarize, please stay away from Angie and Fernie. Unless you like to be lied to and mistreated. These two salesman went out of their way to prevent me from keeping them accountable by speaking to the owner of the store. And I did purchase a 4 thousand dollar mattress which is pretty average overall. I still have headaches thinking about all the time I had to spend talking to both of these salesman, to not receive any help. read more

Wonderful customer service from sales person to warehouse manager. Amaizingly quick and friendly delivery. I highly recommend.

We bought our first mattress from a Kevin. He was an enthusiastic sales associate who promised but did not deliver. He stated we could return the mattress after 30 days of use if we were unsatisfied. Well, we were not satisfied and returned to the store to exchange the mattress for a firmer model. We came to find out that Kevin no longer worked there and the new sales associate was not friendly at all. We were able to exchange the mattress for a firmer one, we paid the difference which Kevin had explained would only be $100 since the store would honor black Friday prices, according to him. Well turns out that if you do not get it in writing you are out of luck! This occurred on the 2nd of January 2018, we are still waiting for firmer mattress 16 days later. Just got off the phone with Fernie, the sales associate that dealt with our exchange. Looks like our mattress will be here on the 25th of January, almost a month later. Quality customer service, I think not!! Extremely dissatisfied with the level of customer service in spite of the fact that I will be getting free delivery. read more

I thought that a business that was family owned would be a better choice for my family but my husband and I were wrong. We purchased a mattress upon recommendation from a family member and the young man there, I think his name started with a K, seemed less than interested in helping us. He was very nonchalant and arrogant like we were taking up HIS time. We had already been to other places in town but by this point we settled for this place. We won't return they didn't have the pillows or the mattress protectors we wanted available and it took weeks on end before we got them. We weren't even offered any compensation. Next time we are just going to go to another mattress store. read more
