This past summer we had Frank and his crew re-line our entire drip system and plant 5 vine plants…read morewith trellises. The first day the whole crew arrived early and got to work with digging up the old drip system and replacing the lines. It took a few hours which was great. They got the plants in (one of which we are still convinced isn't the plant we asked for since it looks and grows completely differently than the other one) and they left. I called Frank later that day asking if they'd be returning to install the trellises and he said he'd be back the next day. He never showed. After multiple phone calls that went to voicemail and a few texts, he finally called letting me know he'd been having family issues. A week after he said he'd be back, he did return but with the wrong number of trellises. Said that he had had the trellises in his truck for a week and the place he bought them from ran out. So he went to our two local supply stores and said they were both out but would be back in a few days with the last trellis. THREE WEEKS LATER his excuse for not returning was that he had a huge masonry job that was more important. Eh, I get that but don't tell your "less important" client that. He eventually returned a month after the project started to put the last trellis up. 6 months later, my husband has had to dig up the drip lines and reconnect and replace pieces. Kind of defeating the purpose of having had gone through the trouble and money of having Frank and his crew come out here.

Buyer beware!!! JDZ landscaping and masonry which is owned and operated by Francisco (Frank) J…read more Contreras is a scam company. I had previously used Frank and his company on a small project to install some flagstone and he did nice work so I decided to use him on a bigger job. On Feb. 24th I hired him to install some stone in a pass thru kitchen window as well as to install a fireplace mantle with matching stone work. His crew came in the first day and tore out eveything to prep for the rock installation and as part of the agreement I gave him $4000 to purchase all the material. He and his crew left the house after the first day with everything in a complete mess but I didn't think much about it because I thought they would be back to finish the job. I immediately started getting excuses from Frank that he couldn't install the stone until he got a plumber to come out and move a gas line. The plumber excuse went on for two weeks so I hired one and had him out the next day. Frank then said he was delivering the material and that they would be done within the week. His endless lying and excuses went on for another five weeks so I will be filing a claim against him with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors as well as small claims court. I would highly recommend that you do not use this company. Frank comes across as a very nice guy but you can't believe a single word that comes out of his mouth. If you google Contreras Masonry and Landscape you will find another post almost identical to mine. Evidently this is common practice for Frank. I should have done more homework! I hope you don't make the same mistake and become his next victim.
