I was a bridesmaid in a wedding six years ago, and Ideal Impressions were the photographers at that wedding. I instantly fell in love with their work, and I knew when it was my time to get married they had to be my photographers! I contacted Ryan right when we got engaged, and Ryan has been phenomenal to work with! He took our engagement photos, and then when COVID-19 cancelled our wedding, he did a Coronavirus photo session for us! With both these sessions, Ryan's creativity was abundant! He has such a fantastic eye for photos and creative opportunities with lighting and backgrounds. Before our rescheduled wedding day even came, we felt like Ryan was already a lifelong friend of ours! He is always prompt to respond to questions, he is flexible with scheduling, and most importantly he truly got to know us as a couple! Ryan's work on our wedding day did not disappoint! THE PHOTOS ARE BREATHTAKING! There is not a single bad photo that he took! Ryan and his team captured every moment from all angles. If you are in search of a photographer for your wedding, you must got with Ryan and his team! I promise you won't be disappointed! Lastly, the photofusion video that Ryan made for our wedding is a video that I will cherish for the rest of my life! In three and a half minutes, he captured the love and happiness of the day! I'm sorry for the long review, but Ryan and Ideal Impressions deserve the best review possible! They will forever be our photographers, and I can't ever thank them enough for the blessing they are to us! We LOVE our photos from Ideal Impressions!

We hired Ideal Impressions to photograph our wedding on the Grand Belle in Lake Geneva in August…read more Our photographers were Jake and Dan. We paid $2400 for the gold package (you CAN negotiate the prices) plus tip. For the time leading up to the wedding, I dealt with the owner, Ryan, and had multiple problems. He was always upbeat and enthusiastic, but he repeatedly emailed me asking me to send the deposit (we had sent it months ago) and forgetting to send us back the contracts. At the beginning, I had asked about the possibility of a live video-feed to the upstairs section of the boat. When he quoted $2000, I found someone who could do it for $1000. When he discovered this, he actually accused me of stealing his "original idea" and finding someone to do it cheaper. This was bizarre since I had repeated emails in which I suggested the idea and asked for prices. Throughout the process, Ryan seemed disingenuous, schmoozy and flakey. On the other hand, our photographer, Jake, was excellent. I can't speak highly enough of his laid-back, professional attitude, attention to detail, and ability to put the bridal party at ease. He was funny, helpful, and very responsive to suggestions. We got excellent photos and we enjoyed every minute that he worked with us. At the end of the day, Ryan, who was shooting another wedding, called away our assistant photographer, Dan, so we only had one photographer during the reception. Jake did a great job, but he's just one person and we missed many table shots and some important memories. Our contract assured us of two photographers and we were disappointed that Ryan, once again, seemed to completely disregard any form of customer service. We got about 200 printed photos, 900 digital images on CD (which we have the rights to), 8 hours with the photographers (4 hours with two, 4 hours with one), a slideshow of images during the wedding (this was a big hit) and a small album for $2400. Overall, I was happy with the shots that we got. If we could have dealt exclusively with Jake and not with the owner, it would have been a much more satisfactory experience.

So I had been visiting from out of State and I wanted a quick place to drop off and develop film…read more Prior to visiting the shop I had went to the store to pick up a USB drive as an alternative to having the scans placed onto CD's, because ideally I know could do this elsewhere at reduced costs. However, I had been overcharged with a total of nearly $50 for two rolls of film, prints and (unwanted) cd's. Sure, I can accept that costs vary from place to place but in this situation, I was told it'd be $4.90~ each to just have the rolls developed and so I was like "Yes! That sounds great.". I had mentioned specifically that I wanted scans placed onto my USB flash drive to avoid the cost of burning copies onto CD's and initially it was never brought up as an issue. I also requested to have one roll pushed during development, but the request was declined due to having the incorrect equipment (which seemed odd) so I humored the idea and just dropped off the film. The storekeeper asked if I had wanted prints and .29 cents a piece and so I went for it. At this point, he had never mentioned any additional hidden costs or fees, and told me to be here to pick up film within a few hours. So when I came back, I had arrived to two packages of prints and the storekeeper had explained that one roll of film (aside from 2 exposures) had turned out and so he didn't charge for the prints. He also mentioned that he had just "places the CD's" with the prints because that's "what they just do." And so I saw the absurd amount and paid for the film because I did not know how to react. Upon further inspection I'd discovered that I was charged for the development of the film (of course, this is expected), charged $10 for the prints that did turn out, and I was charged $10 (bad roll) and $15 (good roll) for the CD's I specifically requested not to receive. I was livid and could not believe that had just happened to me. I've decided that I'll never trust that place again with my film. The only redeeming factor for this place to even receive 2 stars was that the scans from the one roll that did turn-out ended up looking nice. I would hope that this review serves in preventing others from receiving the same treatment.
