We are in shock after eating here for dinner tonight... and not in a good way. Upon walking in, we…read morewere in awe of the ambiance of the place. It was very nicely decorated for the holidays. Lots of pretty lights and even blow up decor hanging from the ceiling. They did a very nice job on that. Our server came to our table promptly and took our orders in a timely manner. She refilled our drinks without asking, and was super polite. Here's the crazy thing... with such a nice environment and good service we are amazed that the food could be SO BAD. We ordered an appetizer of cheese curds. When they came out they were coated in oil to the extent that they left a puddle on the plate. No crunch to them at all. They were hot, but with the amount of grease on them I could only stomach a few. This is where it got worse. I ordered a French dip and my husband ordered a chicken sandwich. His came out burnt, dry, and missing the hot honey sauce the menu claimed was on it. My "French dip" was wrapped in paper and seemed like it came straight out of the microwave. It looked and tasted like it was filled with beef cat food pate. I asked our server if she could switch it out for a salad, which she politely did for me. I simply cannot fathom how such a nice looking place with good service could have such bad food. The French fries were good and the coke was bubbly, but we will not be coming back. According to the website, everything is locally sourced and homemade but that did not match our experience...

Nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Unfortunately, food has not been as good as it was a few years…read moreago. They removed their delicious bluegill sandwich and replaced it with a walleye sandwich (frozen? Processed?) topped with a vinegary sauce - the whole thing was simply not good. Brussel and kale salad was very greasy. Beer can chicken and ranch dressing were excellent as were their fries. I would recommend reading the menu very carefully to understand their ingredients and approach to food prep. There are items that are very good, a person needs to find those.

I can see the charm of the river domes, but we had to make a reservation to get one and there was…read moreno one else in any of the other ones when we were there. In fact, at 7 pm on a Thursday, there wasn't even a dozen people in the restaurant to begin with. Everything was decorated for Valentine's Day which was a cute addition. The domes are also heated which made things nice, but you can't really see the river which is the point of the domes. Additionally, our server didn't really check on us and it took a while to get the condiments missing when the food arrived. We ordered a variety of items with the ny strip being the best of what we tried. The au jus was rather bland, the fries were crispy but had no flavor, the fish was quickly soggy due to all the oil not being drained. We added on hush puppies to the fish and chips.... $5 for 5 hush puppies. Would not suggest doing that, not worth the up charge. There is an eclectic mix of things on the menu but nothing that would lead me to recommend someone to try this place. The beer selection was great however so if you are looking for a place to grab a drink, the tap room feels like a great option. The restaurant however is more for vibes than a quality meal.

Service was great. Classic midwestern friendliness. The views were fantastic. All the boxes were checked but the food. When I saw the menu, I had a feeling, this place is going to do nothing great, because they have a touch of everything. We of course didn't eat everything, so can't say for sure, but the food we ordered was far from mind blowing. The prices and popularity would have you thinking you were about to have food that at least exceeds fast food quality, but that was not the case. I've had fast food chicken fingers (from places that focus on chicken) with much more flavor and texture. They do beer well. It is a brewery after all. But I would not return for the food.
