Sweeping views of the Marmara Sea & Istanbul. Fantastic breezes, contemporary furniture of couches & a DJ spinning cool tunes; we all were swept away by the feel of this place. Hostess sat our group at a great spot overlooking Sea. They serve Ceviche, Tapas, Small Plates & a few desserts; plus, handcrafted cocktails. We had planned on just stopping by for a drink, but ended up watching the sun set and spending the rest of the evening here (we left around midnight, but they were open until 2am). Cocktails: I started with the Red Lips. This was a delicious treat of vodka, Prosecco, pomegranate? with a whipped egg white froth on top. Yum. (had a few of these) Food: all the items were good, but there wasn't anything I had that is a Must Have. The Yellow Fin & the Empanadas were the standouts for me. Yellow Fin Tail Ceviche Empanadas Grilled Rib Steak w/chimichurri & lime dressing Octopus Lamb Cons? Pricey. Cocktails (around $15) & Tapas were LA prices. Smoking. People smoke everywhere. Service was a bit slow, at times. Husband had ordered his martinis with olives, but they kept bringing them with lemons (he didn't mention it to staff). Closed Sunday nights. This was a great spot to end our visit to Istanbul.

I would highly recommend Ali Usta for having excellent Döner Kebab. I was recently introduced to…read morethe yummy Döner at Ali Usta when I arrived in Istanbul from Los Angeles. Ali Usta serves the Real Döner (not to be confused by the places in the United States serving the previously frozen Gyros stuff). The Döner is freshly prepared, roasted and skillfully sliced. I ordered the classic version where the Döner is served in a plate and covered with Lavash bread freshly baked in the tandoori ovens in the premises. The classic version comes with salad, rice and fries. It was so yummy that I ordered a second portion. So if you are in Istanbul and have craving for Döner or simply wondering what to do on your 3 hour layover at Atatürk Airport, visit Ali Usta and enjoy the Döner !

We found this gem by chance near our hotel when searching for a kebab restaurant. It looked like…read morenothing from outside til my wife looked in the door, "It's beautiful inside!". So in we went. They seated us and we found they did not speak English. However some nearby Turkish diner (we found ALL the reviews are in Turkish, a good sign) got up from his group and helped out. The staff walked us over to the display case to select our side dishes and helped us figure it out. When they suggested the mushrooms (giant, that we weren't familiar with) he said they are delicious and said 'come into kitchen' and showed them being sautéd! How's that for being helpful?! Fellow Diner: "You will love them!" Us: "Yes'" (Order the mushrooms! Devine!) Helped us understand how to properly enjoy the small bottle of Raki, and provided us with an exquisite dinner and experience! If you read this review, drop everything and get yourself down there for the Turkish dinner you are looking for. If there are no helpful diners nearby, just let them take care of you, I'm sure you won't regret it, easy on the budget for such a nice experience... Best wishes, fellow diners...
