It looks small from the outside but its pretty big on the inside especially when the extension is the produce seafood and meat are located. It is clean inside but there is a stench when you reach the produce meat and seafood aisle. The shelves and items are organized and neat and somewhat easy to find things in particular. The freezer section to em need to eb restocked since a few areas were almost empty with items. I was in a hunt for a small bottle of LKK Hoisin sauce and they offered smaller bottles for about $3 I think. They have reasonable prices on some items. And some are similar priced to other asian stores nearby. They do sell the viral fruit ice cream pops that come in those containers where it holds the popsicle stick. I was not interested in them so I passed them by. This store is not busy or crowded like Lotte or Enson. This place has a good variety of cute kawaii dishwares. I would come back here again but I prefer Lotte / Enson for more variety.

The lumpia came with sweet chili sauce, and I was able to also buy a bottle of banana ketchup. Everyone loved the lumpia, and it was a great way to share my heritage. I am a mixed heritage first gen Filipino American, and even though I don't speak Tagalog because my father never taught us, I felt welcomed immediately and the foods I have gotten here made me feel like I was genuinely back with my family and the foods I grew up with my paternal family serving. I have noticed they do not sell or cook much food on weekends any more perhaps the pricing. Sisig is $9 from the cooler section. It needed more onions when I bought it last time. This is one of the best sellers btw. I will still support De Guzman but the price increased has slowed me down going here. My go to are the chicken afritada, dinuguan, kare kare, palabok, bilo bilo, mechado and caldareta. The pineapple chicken is not bad either. The house made lumpia are not good. One of my favorite things is their amazing selection of fresh fruits. They regularly carry hard-to-find favorites like Thai mangoes, mangosteen, lychees, longan, and many other Asian fruits that can be difficult to find elsewhere. I'm also impressed with their seafood department. It's generally very clean, well-maintained, and doesn't have the strong fishy odor you sometimes notice in other seafood markets, which makes shopping there much more pleasant. Whether I'm shopping for fresh produce, seafood, or Asian ingredients, Lotte always has a great selection. It's definitely one of my favorite places to shop for groceries.

(You know what store I'm talking about... starts with an H) Fine, but my personal observation especially based on the visit I made last week is that even though the other market is being hyped up by social media; Lotte is still a better, and more affordable market. Granted, the food court choices at the other location are better, I'd still come to Lotte when I need specific asian ingredients. It seems they're aware that theres more competition and they've not only done renovations to the store but they have a lot more specials now than before. The day we went they even had several people promoting products and giving out samples. I don't recall them ever doing that before and I think that's a great idea to boost sales in items. They sell everything from Pakistani, and Arabic spices, tea, incense, paintings, perfumes, groceries, rosaries and prayer items. The poultry meats are much better and free of chemicals than what you find in grocery stores and that can be proved with the taste of the meat. I've never seen a place this much diverse in cultures. They are very welcoming also.

I wanted to get vegetables, but we went to a different aisle first since it looked cramped. We got groceries like dhal, cream of wheat, and others. It looked clean and organized. Once it got less crowded, we went to the vegetables area and got what we needed. However, I noticed some signs warning customers not to sample anything. Honestly, if kids want a small piece of fruit, go to Publix where some stores offer the kids to take a free fruit. The meats area was pretty nice and they had a good amount of chicken, beef, and lamb/goat pieces. They can get pretty pricey though. In fact, many groceries were quite expensive. That's why I avoided buying some of my favorite Indian dinners in the frozen food session. Even though the store looked clean and maintained, it looked pretty sterile. While there were some TVs showing Bollywood, there were no audio. Mostly families talking to each other and kids as well. And it looks like the kids can get rambunctious over there as there were signs warning parents to control their kids and the "you break, you buy" signs as well. Staff were friendly enough though. The store is in a building that also has a food court, and even a lighting store. There are even other restaurants located in the strip too. While I like Apna Bazaar for their meats (especially lamb), it's pretty pricey and mundane compared to other places. I think Patel Brothers and House of Spices provides a better experience at even lower prices. But at least you can get good meats and enjoy some non veg cuisine at the food court too. Overall: C+
