Absolutely predatory service. They took a roadside service call to help my boyfriend change a tire...but said they couldn't actually help him unless he had all the tools in his vehicle. When we called roadside assistance again, the opperator said that this company does this as they get paid for accepting a service call even if they are "unable to help".. this company kept accepting roadside service calls they KNEW THEY WOULD NOT FUFILL as a way to make an easy buck. Slimey buisness practice, I will make sure to never reccomend them and warn others of their lack of character. read more

Noticed a gash In my tire before I left for a morning errand. Called Pop A Lock through my roadside assistance and they had my tire replaced in less than 30min upon arrival. locked out of house and they'll send a technician instead of locksmith. These technicians are better at coming up with excuses to drill your lock than they are at opening doors. Called a local company and they were much faster to respond and able to get in easily. I would absolutely not recommend this company for residential use read more

We had a rare situation with a vehicle, he was able to identify the problem open the lock and then also went above and beyond by using a jump box to help get the car started! Daughter locked her truck by accident. Keys were in truck but it locked anyway. Blocked in both of our cars. So she had a friend come get her to go to a memorial service. I called Pop-A-Lock. Was told it would be 45 mins. It was about 15. Steve showed up in the rain, knew exactly what he needed to do. Within 5 mins he was done. He did it in the rain also. After that hour I called to see where the technician was located and I was told I was going to receive a call back. Battery died and Matt from popalock of Tallahassee came out. He was here quickly, was super helpful and got me going on my way. I would definitely recommend. **Soooo...I'm back again with an update. Matt came out and gave me a jump. Battery died again after he left. I called him again and he came back out, gave me a jump, and followed me to autozone so that I could the battery checked. I lost my keys to my mobile home, and called these guys. THREE HOURS LATER, WITH TWO GUYS WORKING ON IT, they finally got the bottom lock and the deadbolt open by just jerking the locks inside with a pin over and over and over, then using a piece of plastic slid in the door to try to get it to open. They told me they weren't locksmiths, but lock PICKERS. Now, the Manager's extra key does NOT WORK in the locks. So I called them, and I asked them if they would guarantee their work because the locks seemed to be damaged, and the extra key does not work. Some idiot girl would not answer my questions, but just repeated over and over that it would be a MINIMUM of $150 an hour. Needless to say, I went elsewhere. A horrible experience. read more

Yesterday was a bad day for me. I was lost, trying to find the location for an organization meeting I was to attend, apparently stopped at the wrong place, and when I got back in the car to start the engine, I heard only that sad click sound that says" "You're going nowhere." What a feeling of desperation and helplessness - I had a meeting to be at, a multitude of things to do afterwards, can't move the car, it's swelteringly hot day, etc. Here's the good part - no sooner had I called, than a guy named Jacob from Pop-A-Lock had arrived. Like a godsend. Jacob was fast, friendly, and he sure knew what he was doing. He started my car expertly, I immediately turned on the AC (lol), and took off. Huge company! You will be redirected multiple times, the customer service is insanely non-personal. Local companies provide a more efficient and helpful service. They charge before the service is done and regardless if you are back on the road or not they will charge you full price. They offer no discount and refuse to work with you in a tough situation! In my single worst moment of new motherhood, my two-year-old locked himself inside my Honda, at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, in the hottest Tallahassee sun. I was near complete panic meltdown. I phoned the Tally police with the nanny's cell and the operator patched me through to Pop-A-Lock, explaining there wasn't much an officer could do anyway. I must have been near hysteria as I don't recall a single thing I told the operator, but when Jay from Pop-A-Lock pulled up, cool and calm and ready to save the day, I was thanking my stars. He was the best, despite my sobbing and acting like a crazy mother, knowingly assessing the situation and professionally talking me through the less-than-a-single-minute process. He slid his tool in through the door and easily snagged the door lock in the loop, and--voila--the door was open, my sweaty kiddo was in my arms, and I could finally breathe again. I realize the competitive nature of locksmiths in town, some eager to make a good impression and others just out to make a quick buck. I assure you Pop-A-Lock and my hero Jay reflect the highest professionalism, skill, and sensitivity, even if you're a nuts-o mom. I've since saved their number in my cell phone, and let the officer (who finally arrived on the scene--long, long after Jay had already come and saved the day) know referring emergency lock outs to Pop-A-Lock specifically is the best thing the Tallahassee police can do to keep this city a bit safer. I have been referred to this company twice through my car insurance. Both times the tech was very professional and quicker than the estimate. The service was done without any damage to my vehicle and the second time, Tech #13 even showed me how to reset the alarm which started screaming as soon as he opened the door. They do get the job done there on site. However, it took 3 times longer than the 40 mins that they tell you on the phone to complete the job. Also, once the guy arrived to do my key replacement, it took him an hour and a half to figure out all of the electronics and processing. They were reliable, but just counting on them being really slow. read more

My experience with this place yesterday morning was great. The gentleman who helped me, Crystopher, was extremely helpful and prompt. I locked my keys in my car yesterday morning when I arrived at work, which not only meant I was locked out of my car but out of my office as well. My insurance company told me I'd have to wait 40 minutes, but Crystopher arrived about 10 minutes after I placed my call. Moreover, it took him less than 5 minutes to get me my keys back once he arrived, and on top of all of that he was kind and courteous throughout.
