He was never hurried and SORT of fixed my urinary trouble after three botched operations by the initial urologist I saw. I say sort of because what he did din't last but 2 years when because of additional bladder neck scaring I hd to have another operation. Then following that one 14 months later another....These were not HIS fault but the fault of the original operations on my prostate that caused the dmMge-- (done by a Gadsden Urologist named MANISH SHAH)He is internationally known in his field and highly respected. I would reccomend him to others. I just hated the facility where he is locaed-- it is hard to get to, complex once inside and seems JUST TOOOOOOOO big for comfort with all those departments spread out.; It took SEVEN hours on my pre op day because I had to see so may folks in different departments on different floors....But DR KOLETTIS? NONE OF THAT was his fault....

09/03/26, I have been a patient of Dr. Mel Duggan, M.D., for years, and I cannot say enough good…read morethings about him. Dr. Duggan is extremely knowledgeable, very kind, and genuinely concerned about the health and welfare of his patients. I truly believe he is devoted to healing and helping the people in his care. Urology Centers of Alabama is an excellent medical practice, and I have been going there for decades. Dr. Duggan and his staff are always professional and courteous. The parking is easy, the waiting room is comfortable, and I have rarely had to wait very long before my name is called. I especially appreciate the clear directional signs throughout the building. It is a large facility, but if the signs are not enough, someone will ask if you need help and will even walk with you to where you need to go. You do not find that level of personal concern everywhere, and it means a great deal to me. Dr. Mel Duggan and his staff deserve the highest recommendation I can give them. Five stars without hesitation. God bless! -- Mark

I've used Dr. Poore for years and I wouldn't exchange him for anything. Years ago I thought I had a…read morebladder infection and went to two other urologists in Tuscaloosa. I didn't have an infection so I was sent on my way to deal with the pain. Dr. Poore was recommended to me, and on the day of my appointment, I learned that he is a caring and compassionate doctor. I didn't have a bladder infection but I had unrelenting bladder pain. Dr. Poore listened to my issue and I was left to get dressed. I was surprised when he returned to the exam room, sat down, and asked me to go through my history as an urology patient. During my discussion with him, something I said triggered him to say, "I think I know how to treat you." I was diagnosed with cystitis, and he did indeed know how to treat me. Every time I have an appointment, I always see him, he sits down, and he listens to my problem. For a few years, I was away from Tuscaloosa and saw another urologist. During the six years that I went to his clinic, I saw him one time and thereafter I saw the nurse practitioner. I am very thankful and fortunate to have Dr. Poore as my urologist.

I am extremely disappointed with the way I was treated at this office. The staff was rude,…read moredismissive , and completely unprofessional from the moment I arrived. Instead of showing any concern for patients, I was simply told that the doctor had somewhere to be and the office was closing early, so I would not be seen. Patients schedule appointments and often take time off work, arrange transportation , or wait while feeling sick to be seen. Closing early because the doctor has other plans, without making every effort to accommodate patients, is unacceptable. What made the experience even worse was the attitude of the staff. There was no apology, no empathy, and no attempt to offer a reasonable solution or reschedule in a professional manner. Customer service and patient care should be a priority in any medical office. Unfortunately, this office failed on both counts. I cannot recommend this practice and hope they improve how they treat their patients
