Our other dog had done day camp before we moved to Ashland but suddenly became a little temperamental when he went, so we stopped taking him. We talked to Lindsey and Jerry, the owners, about his previous issues and trying to get him back into the day camp groove. They were more than happy to try and ease him back in and work with him, selecting a group he would play well with, etc to give him the best chance to be successful. He was a little on edge dropping him off the first time but he wound up playing all day and getting along with all the dogs there. Since then he's had no issues and gets to go regularly. The kennel they were in.had blood everywhere as well as the blanket and the outside. Going to the front door blood everywhere on floor and that included our clothes and the inside of our car. One dog only got the back nails cut and bleeding. Our other Lab got front and back paws clipped and bleeding continually. I noticed no water in their kennel. When they got home they both drank large bowls of water. They ate like they were famished. I am still in tears. So upset that both our sweethearts got injured by this place. North Country Vet Clinic was going to be our new vet as we just moved back to northern Wisconsin, but I ended up there two months early of my planned first visit with a dying dog. The staff at NCVC were outstanding, period. They dropped what they were doing to help and save my dog's life. They were caring, considerate of my emotional state, and treated my dog with appropriate care. They explained each action they took, kept me informed, and left me with the impression I would gladly recommend this business to anyone needing vet care at anytime. Also, after proving care for hundreds of other people's dogs I understand better than most exactly how precious our pets are to us. Unfortunately, when a tragedy strikes, we as humans lash out and need to blame others as most Yelp users seem to be so very good at doing. My business had negative Yelp reviews from people that had never met me, never used my services, and some that were just angry and needed to vent. If NCVC had not been able to save my dog today, I would have still given them a 5 star review. However, when we went to pick our dogs up yesterday we found that blue ribbon had blocked the driveway to the kennel meaning we could no longer drive up there and load the dogs in the car safely. Instead, we had to drag their cages across a parking lot that has a busy freeway just a few yards away. The Blue ribbon employee told me emphatically "I won't help you load your dogs". This despite the fact that my wife and I are both obviously handicapped and I had my arm in a sling. When we finally got the dogs loaded, they were frightened and I was shaking from the stress. This was totally mishandled on their part and the employee that did it should not have a job there. I don't trust Blue ribbon with my dogs anymore, if they employ people like this and don't discipline them then they'll also abuse my dogs.
