This place is great. Horta isn't known for vegetarian or vegan food. This place is the light in a…read moretunnel of meat-domimated darkness. The veggie menu isn't extensive, but it's complete enough. My first night in Horta, I was forced to eat this nasty salad at a touristy cafe. My travel companion and I have eaten here twice in one day. He's a meat eater. He had a chicken/sliced apple sandwich on fresh baked bread. He loved it. The second time he had a vegan dish, a bean casserole served with rice and kale. He also loved it. I had a blended vegan soup twice. Excellent. We've now tried three of the teas: all great. Prices are cheap. Atmosphere is laid-back. There are one or two roaming cats, courtesy of the owner, that will probably come to your table to say hello. They serve alcohol. My friend loved their tangerinecello (lemoncello, but with tangerine instead). Desserts are not overly sweet, we tried two. Owner speaks several languages, including English.
